SEO friendly url's
« on: April 24, 2008, 04:59:19 am »
if Joomla 1.5 is set to use SEO friendly URL's, all the VM links break and goto the home page instead.

also, you cannot create a thumbnail on an existing image. You have to delete said image, and auto-create thumbnail at the same time as uploading a new one.

It is known that Joomla's basic SEF does not work with VirtueMart. I don't understand the comment about images.

if it known, where's the bug fix? I need SEO friendly url's.

Let me explain the images:

if I upload an image (I did this on categories), then do NOT auto'create thumbnails. Save. Edit. click the auto-create thumbnails button and re-save. No thumbnail is created. Delete the image, re-upload with auto-create thumbnail checked, and this time it works.

If you can't be constructive or bring anything to the table, don't demand.

Steve its hard to have everyhing in this life.
Of course the SEF urls are very important but its a litle bit tricky with the SEF engine of Joomla.

Until they are something for this you can post or ask to Artio.cz which has providing SEF engine for Joomla 1.5.x , I m pretty sure that they are fixing and an extension for Vm.

Aravot its good to hear the voices of the users and what they need, the developing of that "demands" makes the product more competitive .

Ok steve maybe it was eristic but we have all be patience and give even a little stone in that great building !

stones, building, bla bla bla... that's not part of this discussion.

aravot, you're a dink. Please don't ever reply to me again.

Draculinos, thank you! You actually provide a decent response for once!

is Aravot the only extension that is planning on working with SEF links?

and I am not 'demanding' anything, there are just simple requirements for a shopping cart. One of the most basic is being very visible by google. If this cannot be resolved, I will be forced to use shopify or magento + J! user integration. (Yes it exists)

Please don't use offensive language.

if it known, where's the bug fix? I need SEO friendly url's.

Everyone needs something, few wish list, few gift registry, few Google checkout, few comparison option and etc..., we are doing our best to make it happen, the above statement by you to me sounds like a demand, if you had taken few minutes to search you would have known that this is a known problem and we are working to fix it but like a n00b you chose to post without searching first.

There are many shopping cart available you are welcome to do whatever you wish.
