I downloaded the phpShop for Mambo OS.
The module installed fine, but when I uploaded the component I got the following error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/xxxxxxxxx.xxx/httpdocs/administrator/classes/minixml/classes/doc.inc.php on line 598

Do I need to contact my service provider or is there something I can fix myself?
Thanks for your help

Soeren

It's curious that you have problems with exhausted memory. Your provider has set the memory size to 8M. This is normally enough....but you should contact the provider and ask if the memory size can set some highter. I never had problems with 8M since the phpShop installer file for MOS 4.5 is so small. BTW: The problem is caused by the miniXML library which is used by Mambo Installers. It's not very effective.

ciao, soeren

I also have a message board running on the same server - could this cause the memory problem? Would it help if I delete the banner component, since I will never use that anyway?
Just some thoughts....
