Can a product_sku be used inside an url?

Hi everyone,

As the subject mentions i'm looking for a way to use a product_sku in a url to goto a product details page.

I can only find ways now by using the category ID's and product ID's.

Is there anyone who knows about a workarround or an extension that can do this?
