Update to Joomla 1.5 - Which files must be updated?

Hello all together,

i want to update my old virtuemart 1.0.15 Version to Joomla 1.5
So what i found is, that i have to update first my files in my old Joomla Installation
to 1.4 with the virtuemart update package. First question: There are for Updates in
the package: Do i have to update all, also the update from 1.0.5 to 1.0.15 or can i start
with the second step also?

Would be very nice, if i could get an answer, because i tried it several times now and
evrytime i have the error with the language file. Also i made a new installation form
virtuemart and started with step 2 from the upgrade package, but nothing works anymore.

Would be really great to get an answer!

I guess you are also using Joomla 1.0?  I seem to remember the route is as follows:

1. Use VirtueMart_1.1.5-Manual_Installation_Package.zip on J1.0 to do the first update.

2. Update Joomla 1.0 to 1.5.26

3. Update VM to 1.1.9

As Joomla 1.5 is past end of life and will be without any security support from the end of September you may wish to go on to Joomla 2.5 with VirtueMart 2  - http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=432&t=726763#p2834821  In addition there will be no further updates for the VM1.1 series.

Ok, thank you very much - very helpfull post!
But there are a lot of problems, when i try ti migrate my script in joomla 1.5.
I have several errors and also i cant login anymore in the backend.
I tried to change the configuration file and also the php.ini of my xampp installation,
but it reduces the error files, but did not take them away. maybe you have any idear?

Sounds like a Joomla error, not VirtueMart if you can't login to the backend.

Ok, i tried it again with ftp, that works!

Second Step i dont understand really, maybe you can help me.
I have downloaded the complete package from virtuemart for joomla 1.5  -
but theres no update for 1.3 or something, only the 1.9 version.
So do i have to install this now or must i do that now step by step now?

Also i cannot find any virtuemart data in the new database.
I have the bak files , but all without vm or virtuemart,
is that really right???

why are not all files in my database integrated?

Does anyone know, what happens?

My old migration.sql is 66MB, i have thousends of products and also 7000 users.
So it is a lot of data. All my users are integrated, but no products and no orders for example.

Is there a solution for this problem?

I put the max_filesize in the php.ini to 12800M , but it does still not work.
Are there other settings maybe in the php.ini or other files, which i can change, so the migration works???
