Search functionality

I'm having a bit of trouble with the search module...

It doesn't seem to recognise searches for category names, only products. This is functionality I need since it is easier for customers to search (for example) "Sprinter" than to look through the categories and sub-categories in the store. The site is for automotive products and accessories and the store is categoriesd as follows:

Windows Production
         - Spring Loaded Sliding System
                    - Category 1
                    - Category 2
                    - Category 3
         - Cutout Windows
                    - Sprinter 518
                            - product 1
                            - product 2
                            - product 3
                    - Sprinter 309
                    - Category 6
etc...

So, searching for "Sprinter" should return a result with the two categories "Sprinter 518" and "Sprinter 309"... Does anyone know why this doesn't happen?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
