VM clears shopping cart during the checkout process

Hello I am struggling with a new problem (that didn't appear before).

When a user add a product to a shopping cart, it is properly saved. During the process of checkout right after confirming the shipping options, it redirects to a page with "You shopping cart is empty!" and then logs out the user.

The user then has to go back to the store front and when you add a new product, it loads the old cart selection.

This is problem because we cannot complete the checkout process.

I am not sure where the problem comes from.

Hi, try visiting your site with the url having http://www.site_name.com/index.php&bla when you get to the checkout and it shows your cart empty, check the url if it still has the www url prefix. My guess is that it doesn't have it.

If you problem is the same as the one i had then i'd recommend you redirect every browser to http://www.your_site.com instead of allowing http://your_site.com. This can be done by putting a rewrite rule in the .htaccess file.
