choose product variant directly at the categorie detail page

Using Joomla 3.4.0 with VM3.0.10.. I want to create a shop using mulivariants. my problem is that when i try to select a product variant it links me to the product detail page. probably i have to make an override to make work it well - finding it strange that no one of the developers get that idea.Up to now i have modified the product.php in the sublayout but there i can't find the link. So my question is: Does someone know how i can delete the link from the cart variant selection to the product detail page so that i can select the product variant and put it into the cart on the category page without going into the product detail page?

Yes the redirect to the detail view is terrible, more than terrible, atrocious.

Nearly makes us change the shopping system but it doesn't seem to be an easy "delete link" solution, read Milbo's replies in posts linked, he said is planned...

thank you for the fast reply. yes i am also thinking about changing the shopping system because of this and the complicate price calculation starting on the base price.
