Hi all.
Before continuing, allow me to introduce you what I work on.

I am doing a website eshop for a small Parisian shop specialize in apparel and accessories. The actual website is a homemade solution, quite horrible, admittedly.

So Im working on the "new" website of this shop.
This will include an average of 40,000 products (this is SPARTAAAA), directly connected to three point of sale system (three stores).
The stock is managed in real time between the point of sales and the website, I already developed our own system, it will be certainly object of another post on the forum

All of this leads me to the integration of Virtuemart 2.
I knew very well our good old friend Virtuemart 1, but I must admit that with the new version, some points seem particularly unclear. Same for documentation which is still very scattered, it is a big problem in my opinion, that ash deployment of the solution... (I am looking forward the french book from Alatak about... )

As stated in my post, my problem is something that seems to have been discussed hundreds of times, which seems to make crazy number of users: the creation of "child" products with custom fields tool.

Very simply, I would like to have the "T-SHIRT V NECK" product available in several sizes.
The client must be able to choose the size using a menu drop-down, and choose between S, M, L...
If he buys the M size, it must decrement the stock of the child product with the custom value "size: M".

VM1 was great about this... to create a parent, and associate with children by specifying a value for the parameter "Size", previously defined. Easy.
And it gave me this: http://www.rock-express.com/shop/homme/t-shirts/disturbia/22323-disturbia-d

Today, with MV2, it seems all simply impossible: I can't find how to do :/

I assure you that through the joomla french forum and  the virtuemart one, I didn't find any answer, no solution to manage products to a same result as on VM1.

I found a solution posted by HG on the Virtuemart forum :
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=100480.0

He purpose to use "VM - custom, storable variants" as plugin.

The problem is that it become necessary to enter all of the sizes that you wish to propose on your site. I cannot proceed like this. I have 40,000 references to put online, we sell posters, shoes, pants, t-shirts, belts, headphones....
I let you imagine the number of possibility i should create :/

Where's interest for me to have this list of size ?

I thought that somewhere, the solution exists. If you have the solution,  give it to me

Thank you a lot

My problem is described here: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=103181.0
