Product display custom fields very messed up

Hi there, Joomla 2.5 and virtuemart 2.0.18a

I'm trying to set up a small shop which requires custom fields for products.  The custom fields are all misaligned in the product view.  Also it looks like there is no style being applied to the category or product pages.  This is pretty much a new install.  I've tried all kinds of combinations for category and product styling.  I have tried all of the included Joomla styles within the category and shop configs but nothing seems to have an effect.

Please note how the radio buttons for product style are not showing correctly.  Please assist me with fixing this up.  Thank you.

with the container only being 700px wide, it will never look right out of the box.
