We have a clothing store. We want customers who look at a TShirt to be able to choose from TShirt Color "Red, Green, and Blue" before adding it to their cart. The catch is, we have 1,000 TShirts and don't want to go into every single product to set that the TShirt has "Red, Green and Blue" available. We would like to go to the Custom Field tab, and choose T-Shirt Colors and have it automatically add Red Green and Blue to the products.

I understand that you can do this using grouped fields, but there isn't any description of how to get this to work. We've spent a lot of time on this and can't find the right solution. Can anyone tell us exactly what options to set on the "parent" custom field (Tshirt Colors) as well as on the option custom fields of Red Green and Blue? We need to know field types, and everything. Because it is VERY confusing that there are field types of cart variants, and then an option for cartvariants and "is a list" and a whole bunch of other stuff. We WANT the customer to see the tshirt product and have a drop down of "Red Green Blue" under a heading of COLOR. Is this POSSIBLE? And can someone walk us through how to do this? I'm sure it will serve to help the thousands of other people who are SEVERELY frustrated at the new change in VM 2 and not being able to get it to work

Thank you

Hi,

you will find a solution for your problem under the following link.

http://www.kaizenmediaworks.com/virtuemart-2-0-custom-field-dropbox-plugin

This is a plugin where you can define a custom field with your colors Red,Green,Blue and name it simple colors.
Next you can ad this custom field to every product of your choise and the colors will be available in the shop.

Kind regards

Ralph
