Virtuemart Custom Attributes Required are Not Working

Hi,
I had a problem with virtuemart optional fields and some of the fields in virtuemart,

I kept the fields as published and not kept as required and kept not to display in registration page. And i called them by using function.

The problem is those which i called the fields i kept as required are not working, when the user clicks with out filling the data in fields it is taking. the required fields are not working how to rectify it.
