PayPal thankyou-redirection pageis wrong

Hi there. I'm using vm1.1.9 and ps_paypal module (not the API).

It seems to be working except one small issue. When the user clicks on Place order (final step), and before he is redirected to the paypal page, he's transferred to a white page with this url: index.php?page=checkout.thankyou&checkout_last_step=4&option=com_virtuemart

that's in other words the thank you message displayed but with no previous html code rendered, all the <html> <head> <body> tags aren't there...it's like it starts rendering the HTML code from a late point..
(the characters are ofcourse displayed wrong since there's no encoding specified)
