Safe Path issues

Every time I save or apply my configuration I get the error:
QuoteJFolder::create: Could not create directory

And the warning:
QuoteSorry, was not able to create directory for invoices in the Safe Path, please create there manually the folder 'invoices'

The problem is that I have configured the recommended Safe Path: /var/www/web8/vmfiles  (drwxrwxrwx), which is outside the web directory: /var/www/web8/web

Even if I manually create the folder 'invoices', I still get the error, and I can not configure anything.
