Hi

I posted the following in the general questions area:
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=101839.msg337814#msg337814

Basically, a fully functional site suddenly refuses to accept any email address on registration/checkout.

After I received no help with my previous post, I then REBUILT THE ENTIRE F*ING SITE FROM SCRATCH!.

It worked.  Now the problem is happening again.

I cannot even work out how to troubleshoot the problem.
Any pointers would be HUGELY appreciated.

Technical details

Joomla 2.5.4
VirtueMart 2.0.6 fresh install
Joomla registration active, no activation required

User is not logged in
User adds an item to cart
User goes to checkout
User edits billing details, creating username and password, adding email address
Clicks on "Register and Checkout"
Returns to checkout page, and sees error: "Please enter a valid Email address."
The registration details are not added to the site.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Brendon

Hi

Done some further research...

I tried to register a Joomla user using the standard Joomla registration form, with the same details that were refused in VirtueMart registration.
I got a similar error message (this time from Joomla, not VM):

"The Email address you entered is already in use or invalid. Please enter another Email address.
The Email addresses you entered do not match. Please enter your Email address in the Email address field and confirm your entry by entering it in the confirm Email field."

I did have the correct email address twice.

My reading is that the Joomla User registration process has stopped working correctly.
Now the real question is "why?" Was it VM's fault?

Regards
Brendon

Hi

Certainly the problem reaches all the way through to the Joomla registration system.
However, I can't be sure that it wasn't a db update from the VM registration system that corrupted the Joomla user tables.

Still digging, growing increasingly desperate.

Fixed!

It was a conflict with a poorly configured item in ReReplacer.
