This is an error.

You have mysql 5.0 and you use 2.0.2. please use 2.0.4. Furthermore you should start from "scratch".

That is less work, then you may think, use the tools. http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Tools Use there "Reset all tables and do a fresh install". Then do the migration, step by step.
Should I fix your bug, please support the VirtueMart project and become a member

Here are the instructions for migrating
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=95236.0

WHAT the problem is , you have an old file conflicting with the new files.

You were supposed to rename the folders before upgrading.

administrator/components/com_virtuemart

components/com_virtuemart

AND;  UNINSTALL all vmart 1.1 modules and plugins.

SO,

I would make a backup. 1ST

THEN, FTP over to the site, and rename the com_virtuemart folders.

Then install the 2.0 again.

BEFORE YOU DO THE MIGRATOR, MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR IMAGES IN THE RIGHT FOLDERS.

Did you look at the instruction for migrating? It says it right there.

The images have to be in the right folder BEFORE you click the migrate button.

Actually just to point out that your blunt and very arrogant reply BanquetTables, was wrong. Yes the process you said maybe correct, but the official upgrade instructions says

http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Upgrading_VM1_to_VM2_with_provided_packages

Quote1. First uninstall all old vm extensions.
2. Just install VM2 as upgrade over VM1 (just use the joomla install view)
4. Make your life easy and use the sampeldata.
3. Copy your vm1 images into the desired folders (you can also adjust the paths in the config to your old vm folders)
4. Go to Migration and Tools in the backend.
5. Use on the second tab the option all and fire the button.

So actually from what I understand Truja upgraded according to the instructions.

I have found no official instructions to say you were "supposed" to rename anything or transfer the media, as you could keep it where it is. If the official instructions are wrong/outdated, and we are supposed to see a forum post, then just post that, this doesn't make Truja wrong.

We are all volunteers working late into the night for free much of the time, but the main problem with the Joomla/VM community, is the constant insults and patronising replies on forums. I have lost many clients who refuse to use Joomla now due to the way they have been spoken to on forums when asking for advice and help and have since moved to Magento and other CMS systems. So what is the point in us developers spending so much time making incredible systems, to be destroyed by others in the way they answer simple support queries.

Its nice to be nice ;)
