Product descriptions disapear when item is updated - Help!

Greetings,

I've been facing a chronic problem for some time now in my virtuemart site. We've got approximately 250 products in our catalog and we noticed that from time to time the product descriptions would disappear. We tried to find under which conditions this happened and finally found out that every time we do an update to a product (e.g. to adjust the number of items in inventory) the product description is wiped clean. 

We can't find the reason for that and I could not find any answer by googling around.

Can anyone help sove this? Pleeeeaaasse!

Did you ever figure this out?

The same thing is happening to me! some, not all descriptions seem to just randomly disappear.
The funny thing is I have cloned the site for a different country and its working fine fine.
