"Product Type" seems to have been discontinued. Is that right?

When 2.0 came out I read that Product Types could not be migrated. It didn't explain why, but now that I have installed a test shop using version 2.02 I cannot find "product type" anymore, which leads me to believe that that feature is no longer supported.

However, before I give my client the bad news I wanted to make sure by posting here and maybe find out if anyone has found a workaround for that. Since in my case we used product type to associate a list of ingredients for each product, maybe I can build a table template to drop into the description for my client, but  I need to know if this is something they plan on adding in the future or if definitely the feature is gone for good.

Thank you very much.

The product types are not longer supported that way. From our point of view, we created something much more flexible called customfield. You can create with this lists specifications, lists, and so on. For example when you look here http://extensions.virtuemart.net/extensions-virtuemart-2/ups-detail . All this stuff like compatible to, if it is a plugin or component and so on is just a plugin which was fast written. Play with them, more manuals and more specific customfields will follow. You can even use them for information only for the administrators. We call it PCK, product construction kid. It is not perfect yet, we wanna make it easier to handle, but the structures and ideas are there.
Should I fix your bug, please support the VirtueMart project and become a member
