After upgrade from 2.0.3b to 2.0.3c front page does not open at all :

After turning off plugin systempay site loads again.
First impressions:
It gave me a message when i installed new version 2.0.3c
"Warning, the Safe path is empty, for safety reasons it is very important to create a folder in a path not accessible by an URL, create also a folder invoices in it to store your sensible data secure. Our suggested path is for your system D:\Ampps\www\vmfiles"
- If user create that directory he/she needs to create a blank index.html file too, right?
- I'm in a localhost ampps server... but if any user have this in a webhosting he needs to change the value of chmod too?
- Why the com_virtuemart.2.0.3.c.zip doesnt install this folder automatically (by default)?
(it's really necessary to take this action to VM2 work? My fathers invoices will be provided by a different software on their PC. We'll just use in the future the VM2 to receive costumer orders by e-mail... humm..)

Just for me - 2.0.3 c
My small cart shows the right final price .
My main shopping cart now has errors - The product is shown and is correct but now I have no - shipping cost showing, no payments, nor a final price.( right at the bottom)
However the - invoice sent to the customer has the correct price and shipping showing.
* Just as a test I went into configuration and turned on all 'show Following prices' just to check - I still have no shipping, payments nor total in cart.
It did round a product of $199.95 to $200.00 which is correct in Australia.

I turned on bug for administrators to find the issue ( the message appeared Fatal error) - I could not get into the back end of my site - at all .
the only way was to reinstall my whole site and data base - (very scary) - lucky I did the right thing before testing "2.0.3 c - I then purchased the same item I did before and every thing worked well - I am back using version "b" - sorry - but I can say the rounding appeared Ok.
Just a passing thought ?

THis needs a clearer explaination of what to do? I have created for joomla other CMs systems ( folders) outside of the public folder for a variety of reasons - But what does this mean?

Every thing works well - rounding off ok But: But -- I still have the error in the main cart as described below
My main shopping cart now has errors - The product is shown and the price is correctly displayed but now I have no - shipping cost showing, no payments, nor a final price.( right at the bottom)

This means there are no more stockable customfields like we need for example with shirts "XL", "L", "M" ?
In version 2.0.1 they say that this was possible with a customfield of type "plugin", and then select "VM-Custom, stockable variants". With this way we get the dropdown we need but there are still bugs.

That is fine, it works. but how do you remove the parent product from the dropdown list? and why is there a radio button before the dropdown list? that is the biggest problem I have!

The vendor email now has at the top - "COM_VIRTUEMART_CART_MAIL_VENDOR_CONTENT" exactly as written ? It this supposed to be there?

* to get rid of the parent-- The idea is that if you create the parent and then say two child products . You then have three products real ones. The idea then is to go to the parent and unpublish your parent. Then you have to go to your child and put them in a category. Parent disappears and the child appears.
I agree - I then see the child and it has a few options in it - the child appears for me with a radio button and the choices underneath it - I would like to see the child and next to it is a simple drop down box - with my choices underneath - the radio button looks ?? wrong. Are we creating this incorrectly?

Yes still struggling with it, but i'm not the only one if you look at the forum. Nobody knows how to setup the stockable customfields and there is no clear manual. So that's why people ask questions and complain about the customfields. Does the VM Team don't understand this ?

Are product like tshirts (colors and sizes) special products? I don't think so. The color and size stockable custumfield is very basic for a good webshop.
And with version VM 2.0.3E this is still not possible!
@Milbo : Did you try it yourself to create a product like a tshirt with different colors and sizes like the way you suggest ?

The idea is that you use Child products. However, even the Generic child variant is used, I can't create similar dropdown list than with cart variant showing the price of child. See pics.

I presume that you use the name 'Shirts green cost $20.00' and the drop down box is set like you have shown in the images.
We often used the name of the varient and included the cost in typed text.

Makes it a lot easier for small shops like ours, where only the boss has the cost price anyway ;)
I'm still testing, but there is one big issue already:
The discounting option is just completely gone.

The doubled tabs seem to be a "local" problem, my collegue doesn't have them on his laptop (both using firefox).

To set up generic child variants as displayed in the above link, I followed these steps:
1. Create a parent product called Shirt and give it a category.
2. Create children products of shirt (small, medium, large) Do not give these children a category.
3. Create your custom field, type = generic child variant. Title = Size. Cart Attribute= Yes.
4. Add this custom field to your parent product.
When you view the product, all children will show in one dropdown. when you select an item in the dropdown, it will send you to the product details page of the child product selected.
The major issue still present is that the dropdown box is wrapped in a radio button element. which don't make sense.
These are the things that are missing right now:
1. I would like an option for children to inherit the product name from the parent
2. I would like an option to hide the parent product's price.
3. Show child product price visible in the dropdown
4. Remove the radio button from the dropdown
5. Remove the parent product from the dropdown
6. Create an option to hide add to cart button from parents, you should not be able to purchase a parent
As workaround to remove the radio button, you can set this as the last line in your template's stylesheet:
.product-field-display input { display: none; }

Shopping cart issue with version"E" new issue
When I add a product to the cart it appears ok the small cart recognises the cost but If I purchase several items the large cart only recognises one product and also I cannot change the quantity by updating in the large cart.
But the final price is correct.
shipment and payment OK - but I'm not using a calculated shipping by weight - so that might need checking too.

It is not longer needed! It was before just a method to overwrite the price fast, for small shops not using VAT and so. But now you can just use the check and let the systme calculate for you the costprice.

I had that set all along. but this is not exactly a custom field. It isn't displayed like a custom field. this is displayed like if (!empty($this->product->
customfieldsCart)) does the positions work for this? Anyway I take that back about this being the biggest problem. I would like to see the other issues I stated dealt with first. Your solution do not work to remove that radio button. unless I could do say

Please respond on the other items in my post. and refer to my website and notice the page titles when a custom child is selected. The title should be the same as the parent title.
If the title should be the same is a matter of taste and seo philosophy.
Second you should learn and understand the trick of positioning customs. You can set the customfields everywhere in the productdetails area. I think you use template overrides. When you install a fresh vm with sampledata you have it out of the box.

Milbo what good is a product page with the title "Red"? Are you buying Red? or are you buying a T-shirt in red? a matter of taste? That is why I requested an "option". It should be up to me if I am worried about seo philosophy. Besides. In order to make it work now, I have to add custom aliases to all my child products anyway because I have several products with the same attributes. I don't want to have the name of the product along side every option in the dropdown. That don't even make sense.

I am using it to position Specs in the tabbed area of my product details page. But as I said again, this "trick" doesn't explain how to do it for customfieldCart just for customfields. are they the same thing? We don't know because there's no documentation on it.
If you know how, it would be nice if you were to explain a little better how this works. You only have to explain in detail once. Full steps, and explain what the outcome is supposed to look like.

Corymp, my titles are shovel red and not just red. I also think that you use template overrides. Please try first virtuemart without template overrides. Please, there are so many errors atm just caused by wrong template overrides.
I understand, I am rewriting my template overrides. But we are still limited to Shovel Red, Shovel Green, Shovel Blue.. etc. in the dropdown which looks odd and takes up space. Plus ATM, The parent has an Add to cart button and price. Which is wrong if you are in fact going to buy the children. I have found some workarounds, but it makes much more work handling products in the back end
You can use the parent itself, or you can unpublish the parent and give one child a category so that you can browse it. I know,.. manuals will come.

Yes that is the solution I've come to use.
What I've done though is named my products like this:
Parent: 24mg
Child: 16mg
Child: 11mg
Child: 0mg
I've added a string custom field position "product" and added the position to to my template override to replace the product titles. I would then add my custom title to that in the back end for each product. It works flawlessly.
This outputs the drop down the way I like and all titles show the product and not the product option. The current option is shown in the drop down.
I next need to find a way to pull that same custom title from the product and display it on the category page.
This is the way it should be set up by default IMO.

Another thing I noticed, not sure if it's a bug or not. I understand that When you add a title to a product and save, it sets the alias automatically. This is troublesome in my case because it will not only set the alias on save, but if the product has children, it will reset the alias of all children at the same time. For someone who creates custom aliases this is a huge bother. Is there a way in next release to set alias if empty? instead of always setting alias?
Right now if I make a change to the parent of my child variants, all the aliases will be reset rendering any links or ads from other places useless
If I could append the the parent title to the front of the slug in the code below instead of appending the current date to the end, we could save our parent and the aliases for the children would be for example in my case, flue-cured-tobacco-16mg instead of something like this 16mg2012-03-19-23-29-15_

The slug must be unique and not empty. Atm we use the falllback to add a date, we may think about to use the variant. It was meant that you define yourself your slug.
That's the problem, I defined all my children with my own slugs and its fine until you edit the parent. when you do, it reverts the child slugs back to 'childproductname . date'

I did a clean install of Joomla 1.5.25, then installed 2.0.3E, then 2.0.3E AIO. The AIO won't install:

Also, the Virtuemart component places itself second in the components menu - between Banners and Contacts. I believe that its sort order is based on COM_VIRTUEMART instead of Virtuemart.

In my opinion, this is again good for big comanies with a lot of equal products, but makes it a lot more difficould for the little "manually operated" shops.
They just finished adding all discounts manually with the "old" method and now they are just ingored in the new system and we need to redo all discounts to fit the "new" system.
We'll do it, but it didn't make my colleagues very happy ;)
We did try the system with the "Tax and Calculation Rules" before, but it seems that all discounts are added as standard to all products per default. So i needed to change all "Apply generic rules" to "apply no rules" regarding the discounts. Is there an option to change the default/generic discount rules to not use any discounts?
Can someone browse to a category page in their shop and try sorting by sku then sort by sku again to reverse order? when doing this in my shop, I am getting the default shop page displaying in the center column! Is this a bug or did I screw something up?

I am a bit lost. If the discount field/function is removed, how the shopkeeper is able to show customers a discounted price and how much the customer will "save"?
I think that rules are not the right way to do that
on a small scale because they are using fixed values/percentages, and as discussed before there need to be some psychological attractiveness value (PAV) if it's consumer business in a local market. Of course, you could have a fixed discount (a rule) for all products but that is not a normal case. Usually each product have their own discounted price (because of PAV). (Naturally you could have sales for all products running all the time, but that is called cheating)
E.g.
Normal price 100e [set by shopkeeper in Day 1] [Shown to shopper in Day 1] [Shown to shopper in Day 2]
Discount price 59e ! [set by shopkeeper in Day 2] [Shown to shopper in Day 2]

The order status mail needs to be changed so that it does not include original order mail. Please.
I am in the same boat as these users. Some business doesn't have generic calculation rules that can be applied to many products. Instead of that, the business uses the discount field to give it a desired discounted price. This price is determined based on PAV. Bottom line, the user needs to have the ability to manually overwrite the base price. This is very critical!

The large - cart shows the right total but if I change the number of products in the cart -- it gives the wrong total price in the far right column for each individual product.
The total is correct at the bottom of the cart.
Also - I have lost the ability in Ask a question in products _ (if you fill in a ask a question) the vendor receives an email but the buyer no longer gets a copy.

Just so you know _ I have a contact page through joomla - I sent an email to myself through that link using the same email addresses and then 'send me a copy too'. I received both buyer and vendor copies. So my server was doing the right thing.
* In the shop configuration _ i was able to set the product to 1 item - I bought it so there were no items available - click across all the items of "when the product was out of stock" - each has their own issue except show no product. - notify did not notify anyone including the vendor. It did not work.

The calculation system must be very open. so we have as many options as possible.
I also need a feature where I can make discount from manufactor.
so all products related to a certin manufactor gets discount.
by this feature it is possible to make a very fast disount.
eg: manufactor sony 10% (all products related to this manufactor gets 10% off)
------- samsung 20% (all products related to this manufactor gets 10% off)
because if i do it like now i only do all products or categories (vm 2.02) or i have to go in on each products and select calculation rule which take a very long time.

It is quite easy to enter the retailer price. The costprice is then not your actual costprice, it is then the price you must stay below. Hmmm.
Manufacturer depended will be added, quite soon. I am also missing it. Just a pattern thing.
You can also just say, do not use any calculation rules, or you can set a fixed rule. You can also just use unpublished categories to create an hidden price structure.

I have backed out the following file from the release version G back to the release E version, and the featured product issue was fixed:
administrator\components\com_virtuemart\models\product.php

Or you've changed any line in the code of that file.. to get displayed again the mod featured products ?

lipes, I have completely backed out the file - there seems to be quite a few changes as compared to the previous version.
In the end, I have completely moved back to the version E, because the cart did not show any prices at all.

found another problem.
this time its related with the Shopper Fields : index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=userfields
If you create a new Field type (nr 36), and you'll want to see the order, by clicking on "Reorder" link. This will displays the results from the field 1 to 36.
But if you need to push the last new field created to the Top, like the position "35" or "34" etc.. by clicking in the blue arrows "up" they dont work and says the message: "Userfield successfully moved up" :)

Yes lipes, this happens also with 2.0.2. U have to edit the field and set the order number there.

The shopping large shoppioing cart in 'H"
* it will allow me to add products but not update the number in the shopping cart - to be exact - going down in number appears ok but going up in number - it will not refresh to the right number of products.
* I have all products set to large numbers - * sometime it does it amd sometimes not. I did wait for the refresh.
also see if you can go above a number like 12 etc - like 12 products of (anything ) - I am testing in Chrome too, fire fox and google. ( all do odd things at times)

I dont know how to add a Link at side of the check box to users could read and accept "I agree to the Terms of Service"... (like in VM1) in some countries this is required by law law.. i've been searching and found this code:

* If I fill in and 'ask a question' >> it goes to the vendor with my question. The vendor sees my email address in the message but if he/she clicks reply. It comes up with a reply email of the sender but when I clcik sent it sends it to the vendor instead.?
So simply - the buyer will not get an email if the vendor simply hits reply - even though it looks like the buyers email is in the address bar.
The vendor must clcik on the address in the email only to resend a message.
Also - the buyer should have the option " send me the message too" on the ask me a question pop up box.

I think there is an easy way to do this in Joomla 2.5.x. Go to the Joomla Plugins and enable "Plug-in Manager: User - Profile".
Since Update H i ge an error on custom text input. It is looking for /plugins/vmcustom/textinput/textinput/tmpl/default.php but that file doesnt exist.

I still have those errors with the unique indexed slugs with my own import script and csvi too. It is still not possible to create subcategories with same name for different main categories. Same thing happens with products too. In my case I did try to import about 400 categories and around 20 000 products. The import works fine but because of the slug unique index, about 30 categories are missing and about 2000 products. If I set the slug in the language files to just index (not unique) everything works until I use SEF URL. VM 2 obviously tries to recreate slugs, it starts messing up the database by deleting all those categories and products, which have no unique names. It does that by deleting just inside the language tables. Result: I have all categories and products in all the product and categories tables except the language tables. So VM fronted does not work any more. My first thought was, that my own script works wrong. So I did export and import with CSVI. Results are the same.
I think the whole router function is problematic. It relies on the slugs, instead of the only unique thing, the categories or product id.
In my case if I want to use Joomla 2.5 I have to migrate to another shopping cart solution. VM 2 is not the right thing for bigger shops with some automation scripts.
Shipping weight plugin does not show shipping when maximum weight is not specified within the backend config. (VM 2.0.3H all joomla versions). I believe it should ignore the weight when the maximum is not specified.

Does anybody have a known solution how to cure 500 HTTP error (Internal Server Error) when I checkout from cart? I use VM-Payment,Standard plugin and I tried almost everything to solve it by settings but without success (change vars in fields). I didn't try to change DB prefix to jos_ but I read it doesn't matter because it's fixed. Hungarian language is in use in VM and it's running on Joomla 2.5.3 with three languages: HU, EN, DE (PHP5.3.10 and MySQL5.5.10).
When I'm in the shopping cart and click continue shopping, I go nowhere. Is there somewhere I need to tell it where to go. Please help.

Try to see your CSS with Firebug whats happen with your template/layout...
for example your "Totaal" is align on Left side and in my template it's at right side like you could see: <td colspan="4" align="right">Total: </td>

Joomla 2.5.3 with VERSION H: after updating to version H, prices are shown double. Furthermore, VM plugins are now shown double in the administration backend. Payment / Shipping plugins are not working anymore in the frontend

every price has its own id and name, so you can use css to style it. The Position is done in the template.

The stockable variants are still completely fubared.
Setup 1:
One parent product, price 4.99.
3 child products, X => +0, Y => +0, Z => +1
Result 1:
On the category page, the price is shown as 4.99, the base price, as expected. Click on the product, and the product flypage gives the price as 5.99, ie. the "Z" price, even though the dropdown defaults to "X".
Changing the dropdown automatically changes the displayed price back to 4.99 for EVERY variant. Even when changing the variant to "Z", the price goes grey and gets "changed" to 4.99 (ie. stays the same).
When adding any of these variants to the cart, the price in the cart is always 4.99, regardless of which variant is chosen.
Setup 2:
One parent product, price 4.99.
3 child products, X => +0.5, Y => +0.5, Z => +1
Result 2:
Similar to above except price always stays as 5.49. Basically, the prices always stays at the LOWEST variant price.
When added to cart however, the price for all variants was 5.99 (ie. the price of the highest priced variant).
One other thing that I noticed is the in the cart, the SKU displayed was the SKU for "X" for all variants, even though the description shown was correct for each variant.
This is not only incorrect behaviour, but completely unusable behaviour. Let's try to get this fixed for 2.0.3. This is basic behaviour, the more advanced custom field problems could wait until 2.0.4.

I've updated to the latest version (I) But still the custom text input is broken. It is looking for /plugins/vmcustom/textinput/textinput/tmpl/default.php but that file doesnt exist.
Please include a fix for this in the next update. Since allmost all my products need a custom text.
Ow and while your at it, the title for the custom text input still isnt showing up in the cart nor order confirmation mails.

I have defined two payment methods: 1) Standard Payment (Bank Transfer) 2) PayPal and two different shipping methods.
When the user is still anonymous, then in the shopping cart:
Shipping:
no selected shipping method is shown yet --> WHICH IS CORRECT
Payment:
PayPal is already pre-selected ---> WHICH IS WRONG! The payment alternative can then be selected at the checkout.
But at this stage, nothing should be shown, as it also gives the user the impression that there is only Paypal available.
Is this a bug?

Why not detect if user click to change the value (edit/update) on the form field of Product Final price and automatic hit that check box ... for users Save the result without losing their time again and see that the price wasnt updated? in Vm1 this worked :/
seems this is like the file/image upload process too..
if we need to upload any file/image and Dont hit the upload button (2nd step no automatic.. of course we want to upload or not we were going to call the file on our disk) .. the file doesnt upload .. and we need to go back again and do all the job twice.. x|
it's not possible to push and apply the code (javascript or something else) from VM1 and apply that in this areas of VM2 that we need to have a more userfriendly system?! please :/

I do not understand your problems here. There is no upload button for the media. You can directly enter your costprice, or calculate it with the check, or use the override with another check. So what is the problem with it? The Js sounds interesting on the first view, but I think it will also lead to confusion

You can do that already, the command is always the same, regardless the object is a vendor, manufacturer, category, or product.

The option is for the whole cart, not for a single product. Or better said, per vendor.

imho this happens only to vendors using the FE. Is not really normal, but should not interfere. It is meant for multivendor later.

Hello, i just installed a fresh copy of Joomla 2.5.4 and Virtuemart 2.0.3I and i keep seeing the message about me having to create a sales path.
I did that, and the message still exists, i entered the value in the configuration/templates/sales path as "vmfiles/".
Still the message is being displayed, so i downloaded the virtuemart config file from my administrator/components/com_virtuemart folder and manually edited it to:

I've upgraded to 2.0.3I to see if there was any better with 2.0.2 but now there are very important things do not work, as in the cart does not get the total price and shipping even if you set a I said that is empty ... Are product relations not implemented? There is a table in the VM 2 database called #_virtuemart_product_relations. How can I fill the table while entering products. I do not understand how VM 2 creates related products or does it simply not work until now?

It is probably a template problem. Can you check by using a default template?
I have to agree to, what Milbo said - we should stop all that complaining and try to contribute whatever we can.
As I´m not really prof in programming, I donated now in hope, others will follow so we get this problem solved...

We get it. We understand it's open source, we understand it's GNU. That's why we're trying to help. Yes, some people have shown a bad attitude, but as the leader, you need to be bigger than that. Don't sink to their level.
Some of us are finding the exact locations of bugs in the code and are publishing the code changes required on this forum in the hope that it will make it into the official code.
But VM2 is showing signs of being disorganised. There are so many duplicate threads on this forum that it's becoming almost impossible to keep track of what's happeing to bugs that we've found.
Please can we have an official list of known bugs and their status, and maybe a prediction of when they will be fixed. Or even better, can we have a bug tracker. We need somewhere that we can just link duplicate forum threads to to say "Yes, it's a known bug. End of discussion."
A bug tracker doesn't need public write-access, but public read-access would be hugely beneficial.
I think a lot of the community are getting annoyed because we can see so much potential with VM2, but it's so much hard work to get involved in the community. It's so much hard work to find out what is happening. Information is all over the place in lot's of different forum threads.
A troll fight in the forum is not the way to make VM2 the best e-commerce software. Let's get some structure back.

How do you want prevent this? Delete the posts? Then the people go, when you organize it, it a lot time costs time. Same for the tracker. It costs also a lot time, I dont have the time for it. We use the forum as tracker and the swarm is itself pushing the important stuff to the surface. A tracker would be directed from above, no community thing, you would like that more? It is less democratic.
It is not hard to contribute. Just do it. Post your stuff in the forum, it wont get ignored. You are already known for writing a looot. The only result atm is that you found one bug in cancel payment. Thanks for this. But you cost more time, when we answering your great insights, then you give us.
The system is quite easy, when we feel you are a plus for the community, you get invited. But atm it is negative bilance. When you think it is hard to join the community, then you underestimate by far the whole size of this. You underestimate how much effort people put into. Also interesting is that people in the team almost never demand something which they would not do themself.
With the ParentChildDemo.PNG that Milbo posted, I am running 2.0.2 on 2.5.3 and it does not show an "Add a Child Product" button at all.
Is this in a post 2.0.2 version or did I need to do something first?

I think you've missed my point. This is going to happen with every Open Source product. you cannot prevent it, just manage it. At the moment, we are having to follow those "3 threads" to keep up to date on a bug. It would be much better if we could just point to a bug tracker entry to follow. We don't need to be able to write to the bug tracker, but if we could read what's happening, that would be a huge help. Instead of trying to keep 3 forum threads in sync.

One of the things that is causing a lot of the bad attitude on the forums is that so much is getting ignored. Or, at least appearing to be ignored because we can't see an official bug tracker.

For example, the "cancel payment" bug. I received no feedback when I reported the bug, could not see any way of working out whether it was being worked on, or whether the developers had even acknowledged that it was a true bug. I got bored of waiting so spent several hours trawling through code I was not familiar with and identified two possible fixes. Only when I published my findings did I find out that it had already been fixed in the next development release.
The community doesn't like having it's time wasted either.
I'm worried that the community is becoming very much "them vs us".

I have an idea.
If we can't have a bug tracker or an "official bugs" page, maybe we could have a new forum for official bugs.
In this new forum, no new threads can be created, but people can update existing threads. When a thread in another forum has been identified as a true bug, an administrator can move it to the official bugs forum. This thread with then be the definitive thread for that bug. Anybody who raises an identical bug again can just be redirected to the official thread in the new forum....
This way, the swarm can feed into a controlled forum.

That is an interesting idea openglobl, similar to the 3rd party forum. But for now I think we should get used first to the second forum for the dev version. And we want to use the bugtracker, but not for all problems.
Just when we developing,.. we often create smaller bugs, which are fixed almost with just knowing them. For this a tracker is overkill. On the other side we have sometimes bigger bugs, we cant solve within some minutes. We will see.

BTW, "$.setproducttype is not a function" is the cause of the bug.
Fix: plugins/vmcustom/stockable/stockable.php (line 318)
Change:
$.setproducttype(formProduct,virtuemart_product_id);
To:
Virtuemart.setproducttype(formProduct,virtuemart_product_id);
This completely fixes the problem.

This is just a symptom of the underlying problem though. The public doesn't need to be able raise bugs in the bug tracker, but if there is one single definitive place where we can read the information (eg. a read-only bug tracker), mistakes and duplications will be much less likely.

One other thing that I noticed is the in the cart, the SKU displayed was the SKU for "X" for all variants, even though the description shown was correct for each variant.
This is not only incorrect behaviour, but completely unusable behaviour. Let's try to get this fixed for 2.0.3. This is basic behaviour, the more advanced custom field problems could wait until 2.0.4.

PS. There is also a javascript error given in the console when the page loads, it may be related but I haven't investigated:
"$.setproducttype is not a function"
Identical behaviour still present in 2.0.3i

BTW, "$.setproducttype is not a function" is the cause of the bug.
Fix: plugins/vmcustom/stockable/stockable.php (line 318)
Change:
$.setproducttype(formProduct,virtuemart_product_id);
To:
Virtuemart.setproducttype(formProduct,virtuemart_product_id);
This completely fixes the problem.
Any chance this could be added for 2.0.3J ?

Another suggestion regarding this file: the width of the dropdown field for childs is pretty short - so please enhance width or, make width a configurable variable in "/plugins/vmcustom/stockable/stockable.php" line 221

Hi all! Too many posts to read here today.. :P
I agree and understand both. We have to contribute, collaborate whenever possible and be able to wait when we cant do that progress like we want/need/hope... No one is a system machine! eheh :)

In my opinion the fast search is crucial to have less "spam posts" (like i did sometimes.. sorry!!!) and in a fixed position will be wonderfull to users! Like the others items to draw the attention of all for Donations to Developers of this Great and Fantastic Project, and to Commercial Jobs...
I also put one link to issues... but like Milbo explained us there is no many full members that can control all list's.. So you could link to a fixed post in this forum .. but why not recruit any other member that can help with this?
