Title: New pre subrelease VirtueMart 2.0.1 H
Post by: Milbo on January 24, 2012, 22:44:41 PM
Update: People who use this updater and use mysql 5.1 or lower may get in trouble. The updater is recreating a primary key. It seems that older mysql versions have trouble with it. But please if you have a mysql lower than 5.2, then please try it with a copy, so that we can investigate further.

This is a new pre subrelease VirtueMart 2.0.1 compatible to j1.5 and j1.7, maybe j2.5

Before you test it. Work at best with a copy of your system first and never with your live system. This is very important, we do this release first in the forum, because there are really a lot of different systems outside. The installer worked fine for most of the crew, but on one system it did not work. Be aware that the 2.0.1 version is only an updater for 2.0.0, when you have an other version, then please look here http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=96941.msg318963#msg318963

Do NOT use the built-in ars updater,.. it will downgrade your version to 2.0.0 again, because the 2.0.1 is not official.

Except that the stockable variants are still not working we are quite confident now.

Update H:
Various little fixes

Update F:
a lot small bug fixes, written in the forum

Update E:
- Cloning of products, clones now also the customs.
- Enhanced accountmaintance.
- ... and more

Update D:
- fixed the bug with order creation not allowed
- various small fixes
- added languages to aio

Update c:
AIO has now
new payment plugins
- payzen

- fix products not listed in joomla menu edit, when product details layout is selected
- fix stockupdate customfields
- other fixes in customfields
- non vendors now stored with vendorid= 0
- small typos here and there

Update b:
- Mainly emails
- calculation rules get stored in order
- search query
- aio, config should not been overwritten.

Update:
- fix for order list
- emails a bit fixed (BT address)
- fixed router (checkout, edit address cart)
....

Fixes, improvments, enhancments:
- updated language, minor language fixes, removed unused keys, other expressions

- some more triggers (plgVmOnAddToCart)
- some performance tweaks
- customisable positions for customfields in the productdetails/tmpl/default.php
- media is now handling downloadables ( free download) and also files for sale in another directory then joomla, but uses thumbs in the joomla directory. This is extendable by a plugin. We are in the last testphase of it.
- tooltip for filter in mediahandler
- medias get actually unpublished now (Check first if your media is published, before thinking that all images are deleted)
- vendor view added, extended with layout for tos, about and contact, there is also now a legal info for extra information.
- added register layout in user view
- minors in shipment and payment methods
- corrected error that prevent other administrators in j1.7 to act as the mainvendor.
- fixed price override display for anonymous
..... some small enhancments, fixes and bugs mainly written in the forum.

Do not use the built in ars update of course, because then you actually downgrade again.

@Milbo,
Hi Max,
is there any changelog for this update.
I have taken advantage of the override to customize my  template and i need to check and change those files in the view folders  manually 1 by 1.

Thanks

JohnnyC - well done - On the invoices or receipts - there needs to be a place (special for the company ABN - or what we call the business number). I can put it on the logo of the company at the moment and the customer will get a copy there but for australias there always needs to be a places for compant numbers or invoice numbers for orders - Love those suggestions you have put forward.
* on VM one theer was a place We put these as it hada small script place you could add a few extra text words that went on invoices.
Please don't write and tell me I can add then here or there -
I will find away around this but I like JonnyC's suggestions.

Thanks, for me that I am very new at VM and php it is difficult to make the modifications on my own, so I suggested some things that I need for my shop, expecting any ideas instantly or in a newer version or update. Especially the invoice choice is needed in my country (Greece) too... At the Greek VM forum there has been a remarkable effort that worked on previous versions of VM, but not VM2. This is something new...

As we have already discussed, the VM user registration (with all necessary profile information) in a login/create account module, like Joomla's. Currently a user can register through Joomla login module but except the username, password and email, no other information are used by VM. So, a unique registration module is needed
no, not really. There is now a lightweight user maintance.

Quote from: JohnnyC on January 25, 2012, 10:35:56 AMThe ability to add custom field at checkout. For example in my shop, according to my country's rules, someone should be able to choose between invoice or simple receipt, and in case of invoice should register the job and VAT number, that are shopper fields
This is there since beginning and called shopperfields.

Quote from: JohnnyC on January 25, 2012, 10:35:56 AM
More payment methods. Except Paypal and a Standard method that are built in VM2, there should be more methods like direct bank debit or credit card bank debit or just an html to write anything (like collect on delivery that in my case is needed)...
As you said, this are plugins. Rome was also not built at one day. There are a lot plugins in development and a lot are almost ready or ready like authorise.net, payzen, ideal and a lot more (russians).

Quote from: JohnnyC on January 25, 2012, 10:35:56 AMExtra payment and shippment information (from the field VMPAYMENT_STANDARD_PAYMENT_INFO_TEXT) to be displayed somewhere (during checkout and/or in the email). I needed to set a direct bank debit, giving some bank accounts that I wrote in the field, but they were nowhere displayed...
This is done in the paymentplugin, they can handle that themselves.

This is already added in vm2.0.1. We call it legal_info. It is also translatable. Enter it and play with the vendor about layout, the mails and the order print view to see the effect.

bunglehaze: did you increase the mysql my.ini file size too? In my localhost configs i have these:
[mysqldump]
quick
max_allowed_packet = 16M

[myisamchk]
key_buffer_size = 20M
sort_buffer_size = 20M
read_buffer = 2M
write_buffer = 2M

Milbo:
Another problems
- (1) in VM 2.0.1, on "Product Menu" > "Product Information" > "Product pricing" ..
i'd configured only to work with Euros, and country Portugal....
But when i create any new testing produtc in turns the "Cost price" to United States Dollar ... and i dont know why this appear...

- (2) in VM 2.0.1 on "Product Menu" > "Product Dimensions and Weight" > "Product Weight" ..
It displays for all new products the number "10" Kg ... why not "0" ?

- (3) in VM 2.0.1: some image in the painel top left doesn't display / work, located in:
<div class="tabs" style="display: block; ">
<input name="vmlang" type="hidden" value="pt-PT">
<img style="vertical-align: middle;" alt="Português (pt-PT)" src="/mp3/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/assets/images/flag/pt.png">
.....

- (4) SKU and Images upload problem... i've tryed to insert some new products with "test 1x" sku code, and images but they wont upload...
they display the default VM demo images... and also the SKU code that i dont need...

- (5) If we try to upload a new image (Upload File), we only get these options in "Image Action":
   None   Upload   Replace   Replace thumb.
Why we dont have the option to Replace the Big image and also to Replace the Thumb in only one option like "Replace image and Thumb"?

....
editing this post:
In Manufaturers we all got the same problem with the Images and thumbs... if you upload any new image (with a clean install) the VM 2.0.1 will get the default images and display them... argh! :|

In "Configuration" > "Templates" > "Thumbnail Image Width" and "Thumbnail Image Height" .. iof you change the default values they not increase the size of the thumbnail .... this not works with me.

prolipes, I have not edited the settings, they are equal or higher to yours though -  but as a side note I have a new installation of VM2 in a seperate directory off root and that updated perfectly with no error message and using the same settings.

bunglehaze: i did not update from 2.0.0 to 2.0.1 .. i've removed all files first (and give me that error)...
I did not use the J Installer like you did ....
i've instaled VM 2.0.1 (all fresh) in Joomla 1.7.3 Stable. So i was thinking that your DB problem must be with the DB memori sizes numbers... but i dont understant much of that... if you increse maybe solved (i was thinking that)... but if u have that numbers like mine... i dont know... The VM 2 its very "green" to eat :S

I've found right now many problems (manufacturer, images, prices, etc..) that we cant do a test store (like we want)... we still must wait for a stable release in the fundamental aspects of creating a new costumer (edit and removing), the products, manufacturer, the buying process, e-mail.. and then when this will be nice.. we should get install the vm2 by default...

So the real problem to solve its integrating VM1.1.9 in J1.7.x .... until the vm2 goes step by step under development...  :/

Hmm works for me. I dont know what you mean with the SKU. When you dont want to display the SKU in the FE, then remove it from the layout.

It is not wise to exchange just an image, but to use the same description. When you want todo that, you should use joomla, extplorer or ftp. Replacing the thumb is important for medias like pdfs, exe, docs and so on which are now downloadable. For them it is intersting to show another thumb, then the file icon.

Just uninstalled 2.0.1 and re-installed 2.0.0 and I get : Info: compareUpdateTable not finished, please rise execution time and update tables again

It would appear the component installed though as I can access it via admin menu again.

** Perhaps not then... Cannot access the shop via admin menu as installing gives an error building admin menus

I must admit that prolipes has a good point regarding the images, there are just too many options and for me the replace option does not work so you would have to remove the thumbnail and click upload for each image replacement, why is there an option for none? surely if you want to do nothing to the image the option should not be there.

If upload is intended to work to upload new image and thumbs and replace to replace the existing image and thumbs I guess I have found another error with my install of VM2 as this is never the case

bunglehaze: yep.. for some times i wish had ayn screen camera recorder of my desktop browser to show the errors that we've found...

Milbo:
(1) I set it up in "Shop" menu > "Vendor" > "Vendor Information" and also "Currency" it displays: Currency: Euro, and in bottom, : List of accepted currencies: "Euro (X)".. the problem is that it displays the "Cost price" to United States Dollar on "Product Menu" > "Product Information" > "Product pricing" !! Its a strange problem...

(2) - Yes.. should be "0" Kg, but for me displays the "10" Kg value!

(4) - SKU its the "Product SKU" ..  I've done another CLEAN instalation .. with ZERO products (from demo), from the beginning of J1.7.3 and VM 2.0.1 ... but the problem persist.. The VM had already (without user permission) 18 active Products!!! WTF... :(  You could see that in :
Tools > Control Panel > "Statistics" right side, and the number of "active Products" items...
why are 18 active if we dont had any 1 product active in the Product List?! :|

Then when you try to insert your first product, with the name that you give to your SKU.. that name will no longer available to you and will be replaced by other name like G01, G02 ... and other price... the Image problem.. etc.. etc... it gives you another thing and not your product!

(5) I'am talking about this image problem because its very important to replace the old one.... if any user want to upload and update the last item, why not have the option to replace the image and the thumb with the new one!? In the old VM we got that option... and was very fast changing the old pics to the new..

(6) In Manufaturers we got the same problem with the Images and thumbs... if you upload any new image (with a clean install) the VM 2.0.1 will get the default images and display them... argh! :|

(7) In "Configuration" > "Templates" > "Thumbnail Image Width" and "Thumbnail Image Height" .. if someone change the default values.... they cant increase the original size to other size of the thumbnail .... this wont works for me too.

Thanks for answering Milbo...

You can set what you want. You sell your products in euro, you accept, USD, euro, yen and swizz. But maybe you buy your products in russian currency. So the only "bug" is that it is not preselected correctly.

VM1 didnt had a media administration. You can easily use one image in different products. The shopowners meant it is more confusing to change one image and it is changed for every product, than just to upload a new one (thumbnails get automatically created).
Anyway the fastest method to upload media is to use the FTP and then the synchronise media option, to choose them in the product edit view and to adjust their description there.

Please explain this, for us everything works normal. I will ask jjk, he has an image shop, selling images. He will check.

The size of the thumbnails is not the actual size in the FE. The actual size of the FE is done by your template. The size you choose there should be defined by the templater and is a compromiss of the smaller sized displayed images.

The first thing I saw is that you do not choose the image action upload. So it is no wonder that it does not get stored. Then I saw strange database flaws. I never had them. You said you used a fresh install, but the db is was not empty! Please use the toosl, described at begin of this thread.

Milbo,

I appreciate your dev team work.

So, I'm asking for the 3rd time (still no response), when will be related products released? With any new version I have to uncomment 'R' and 'Z' ifs and WHEREs to get it work.

Is there any reason why related prods are ommited?

Thx Ondra

Sorry for no response,
but you simply add it in custom fields in product editing.
As you can add related categories same way.

simple type your product name to add as related in the second search box

The related product was never removed only handled a little different way.

Hi. Humm.. what do you mean about "image action upload" ?
I upload the image from the normal process like everyone do (i believe that...)
When i firstly open the "upload" button (to choose the image file), I click in some image 1x and then the bottom to send, or click 2x in the image (quick process that i did in the video). I also see and checked if that image was selected in the description (and it was like you see in video) with the correct name in bottom description..., I've also click "save e close"... And puff.. no image!
Is there any way to upload the images that i cant see o_O ?!

I've upload some images and the problem persists.. ... did you see that every new product changes the sku's name's G01, G.... G.etc..? the price is also incorrect!!... when we select and upload another pict different from what we've selected it goes on same way.. this is very strange for me :S
it could be a problem from AMPPS localhost? :|
i dont know what to say more... i've done 4 instalations until now with 2.0.1.. :/

Installing this via J Installer fails, after this I can no longer access the Virtuemart Component via the admin menu

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 261900 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/******/httpdocs/libraries/joomla/database/database.php on line 503

That is with both a 30M and 60000 and a 60M and 120000 execution time set in .htaccess

I have actually set higher numbers in my php.ini and my.cnf so the configuration of the server should not be causing this, every time I try to install using the J installer I get a similar error message but sometimes with different php files mentioned.

Also the uninstallation and reinstallation of 2.0.0 seemed to have sorted out the ongoing issue I had with not receiving admin order confirmations as they started coming through just fine for the remainder of yesterday, today however they have stopped coming again - VERY frustrating.

What I REALLY want to know is how to migrate/export my users, categories and products from this VM2 installation in order to start completely from scratch with 2.0.1 - any suggestions?

ADDED

After performing the db tables update I have been able to install 2.0.1 with no errors - could something within 2.0.0 have been blocking or looping the installation?

Hi. Humm.. what do you mean about "image action upload" ?
Is there any way to upload the images that i cant see o_O ?!
images is attached

I've upload some images and the problem persists.. ... did you see that every new product changes the sku's name's G01, G.... G.etc..? the price is also incorrect!!... when we select and upload another pict different from what we've selected it goes on same way.. this is very strange for me :S
it could be a problem from AMPPS localhost? :|
i dont know what to say more... i've done 4 instalations until now with 2.0.1.. :/
I think the last problem arises, when you used a vm2.0.0 and deleted often products. One of hte main bugs in 2.0.0 from my point is that it deleted some stuff not correctly. So maybe you have some rests of it in the db. This would explain the change of the prices. But this can only happen for new products. I add a cleaner, so this should not happen.

Be aware. Uninstalling virtuemart and reinstalling is NOT clean. The tables persists. It is cleaner to use the tools! http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Tools

Yes, we have the same problem with another server and we are not able to enter the com_virtuemart anymore (stated in the first post). It is still in this state, because we want to find out the reason for it. I set my mb limit to 20MB and it installs and updates, so it cant be the memory.

There are no changes there,.. .the changes quite small, you could do them manually. But I would use the tools. It is strange that people do not believe, but it is cleaner to use the tools. You can always update vm by just uploading the files per ftp and use the table updater.

This is very interesting. You did a table update of vm2.0.0 with the files of vm2.0.1 and it worked? But it did not work to use the joomla installer? Hmmm.

Because the installation of 2.0.1 failed I tried to re-install 2.0.0 which threw up the update tables error message as well as error building admin menu, all I have done since then was manually deleted the entry in the db for VM in menu's and assets, used the toold update tables and reinstalled VM 2.0.0 again using the J Installer - no errors on that occasion and admin menu also updated correctly.

Then I went into the J Installer again and installed the 2.0.1 component package which worked with no errors again, AIO install followed.

Now I just have to test my site to see if the admin order confirmations are being sent or not which is my main issue that need addressing, my threads on this issue are not being responded to though.

bunglehaze: Yep i've cliked in the upload box.. but doesnt upload the image.  And for your situation did you test / check with the Joomla 2.5 + VM 2 to see if you got the same memory problems? If you dont try to install in your host a clean J2.5 + VM2.0.1 and see if you got again (hope you not have the same problem) ... then i can do a migration by "hand" of the tables for your old VM.. Maybe its a problem with VM2 + J1.7.3 ...

nflmerch: Global Moderator jenkinhill.. said to me in other post that the VM2.0.1 isnt yet prepared to works in J2.5 .. we only got an evolution in the "next couple of weeks"... But what i saw is J2.5 + VM2.x works better with less problems.... the image upload its a real problem in all J + VM versions..
Title: Re: New pre subrelease VirtueMart 2.0.1

@Prolipes, my memory problem went away after using tools to clean the db and sort out any table changes that needed doing, for now I do not intend to upgrade to J2.5 until I know all of the annoying issues I have with VM2 are sorted out and the initial bugs are fixed in J2.5 too - early adoption of both 'new' systems is not a wise idea if you hope for a stable platform TBH.

I have not experienced any image upload problems myself, as I mentioned previously i do find the none - upload - replace - thumb options a little counter intuitive in the backend though

Quoting all of the above as conclusion (about VM2.0.1 installation using Joomla 1.7.3):

My VM2.0.0 "doesn't see" the new version 2.0.1 for update. It says that I have the latest version 2.0.0. Same situation at AIO. Neither when I refresh the update information...
So, what's the best way : to make the installation through Joomla installer, over the VM2.0.0 or remove the old installation first? I'd like not to lose my data or VM modules names and positions. Has anybody tried the first one? Is there something that  I should pay attention?
Title: Re: New pre subrelease VirtueMart 2.0.1

Indeed it doesn't see the update, I think bec ause its not officially launched.
First make a backup, especially if you're unsure! I've installed it over the old version. I think that's the correct way.
BTW uninstalling VM2.0 does leave your dB tables in tact, quite sure about that. But always BACKUP.  ;)

ps I'm not a VM developer.

In updates I do not see any update for virtuemart. So how to upgrade/install 2.0.1?. I tried both on a dummy site as well as my working site.

Currently using com_virtuemart 2.0.0 on Joomla 1.7.3

Thanks bunglehaze for reminding. I tried to install directly without extracting first. So, I just extracted and installed both component and aio. Successfully installed. Updated version is shown as 2.0.0 and installed version as 2.0.1. On going for update 2.0.1 is reverting back to 2.0.0 version. Then I do not see the settings for downloadable products. I mean where is the setting to consider your products as digital products and hence also how to avoid billing and shipping before carting.

That is exactly why the lead developer of VM said do not use the updater on this release. Please read the forums or use forum search.

Sorry for no response,
but you simply add it in custom fields in product editing.
As you can add related categories same way.

simple type your product name to add as related in the second search box

The related product was never removed only handled a little different way.

Thanks Electrocity, seems it works.
One small issue is in admin, there's is PHP warning in the order detail when showing custom field value.

I suppose it should be something like this:

public function GetPluginInCart($product)
{
  //$plgName = $productCustom->value;

  if(!empty($product->param))
  {
    if (!is_array($product->param)) return false ;
    $param = array() ;

    foreach($product->param as $k => $plg)
    {
if ( is_array($plg) )
  if (key($plg)== $this->_name)
$param[$k]= $plg[$this->_name];
  else
$param[$k]= $plg;
    }
}

Hi!
After update to 2.0.1b version, it was error displaying product picture:

for example:

http://pc-electronics.am/test/index.php/computers/desktop-pcs/dell-studio-xps-13x1340-30060-detail

http://pc-electronics.am/test/index.php/computers/desktop-pcs/sony-dsc-w380-detail

and all other products...

AND

HTML is now saved, but still cutting some of the text

for example:
copy product information from

http://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/printers_canon/Canon_iSENSYS_MF4410_23_USB_2.0_108106.html

to product detail

https://pc-electronics.am/test/index.php/store/test-detail

and, after cutting some html, it is errors in view in a page.

Two little issues with installation and setup.

If it would be possible I vote for correcting this, it will save time, shop offline time and administration needed for future versions
On the other hand, those are small things...

J1.7, VM 2.01, LAMP environment.

Thx.

and that is why the 2.0.0 doesnt display the download link in the "Live Update" (AIO) to 2.0.1 ?!

or we must update to 2.0.1b without seeing that warning msg ?!

2.0.1a and b are both pre release testing versions, 2.0.0 is the official current release and so if you update to a 2.0.1 version the backend will show the upgrade available message which should be ignored.

Eventually 2.0.1 will be general release and upgrading will remove the warning in the backend.

Hello. It looks like (2.0.1b) #__virtuemart_order_calc_rules remains after order empty. For some components, it's crucial to determine calculation rules applied for ordered items. Mainly for taxes and discounts on invoices.

Something else I just noticed since updating through to 2.0.1b which is a real pain: all of my products with custom fields are now saying call for price, I am looking through to see if their fields are still intact and try to find a reason why.

**Added**

Previously my cost price was set as £0.00 and each custom field assigned it's sales price which worked fine, if I wanted to set a base price and have the custom field add a specified amount I could do that also, now though I cannot set 0.00 in the price without it bringing up a call for price button instead of 0.00, I am using:

Custom Field Type:    Cart Variant

ask a question is not the problem and I need the ask a question link in place, I am getting a "call for price" where the product price should be when using custom variables and have zero set as the FE price. As I said in my OP I had it set this way when I upgraded to 2.0 and it worked fine to allow me to set individual prices in the custom BE

Why? :-s

He meant that all the J2.5 specific issues were caused by a single "design flaw" in VM2  :)

oh for me the flaw is in j2.5

Before we used view->getLayout, in most edit views we did something like $view->setLayot(JRequestvalue) this seems not to work anylonger, j2.5 takes it always from the Request directly it seems.

kohno97, thanks we will take a look. It is connected to the pdf stuff.

has this been fixed in the latest update and if so how do we implement easily?

What we would like is inserting Field "Colour" with all its variables (blue, red, grey,...) automatically.

This way doesn't work:

Inserting Parent "Colour" doesn't add automatically:
       Child "blue"
       Child "red"
       Child "..."

nickybutler search for the product with virtuemart_product_id=8 to see a rough example.

samsontumanyan the standard template does not resize the size. We want that the people understand that it is better to adjust the image itself then todo it with CSS, when people understood that, they can add css or buy template doing it the way they want it.

Hi Milbo thanks for your reply but i dont understand.

Im wondering if this feature has been added to the latest development version of vm.

Im looking to be able to have 1 drop down menu (colors) that can be applied to all products without having to specify the sizes available for each individual product.

Thanks for your time I understand your very busy.

It depends on the template you are currently using and the existing support. Usually the templates need to be updated to work with newer versions.
I am using a free template (Shoplab) for VM2 from the two that I have found (I don't know if there are more at this tme). Only this template is updated to work with VM2.0.1... The other one is not!!  So check the template's developer page to see if there is a newer version

I can also confirm that the aforementioned issue with print view orders in the BE are still blank of data. I open up the page and there are no customer, item or payment details.

Ok folks, try this if you are having the same problem.

Uninstall the old version of VM and then reinstall - that has fixed my BE print view issue on orders where a simple overwrite seems to have failed. I have now done the same for my modules too as I have been having trouble with a few issues - hopefully this will solve those too but I will report back later.

Milbo, I have installed the latest version to see the GUI option and I think our wires got crossed about the issue I was reporting.

In version 2.0.0 I setup all my custom fields for my products as cart variants, the reason for that was that the old attributes did not work from VM1. I sell (as an example) a light bulb which comes in 10 different options, all different prices and all the prices change so in my product I need to have a zero value for the item and then offer each variant as a set price.

Since 2.0.1 I cannot set a zero value for the item because the ask for price box comes up rather than just showing each of the custom fields listed as they were previously. The only way I can show prices for these custom fields is to add a price in the item value and then adjust the custom fields by a + or - value from that item price - ie if the product value is set to £52.99 and the second custom field price is £59.99 I have to set it as 7.00 in the custom field rather than the set price which is just an admin nightmare when the prices change as it means calculating each price again.

I cannot see a way to override the ask for price so when it does not show and the custom fields are in place it just displays them as a set price list. I need to have the option of a zero valued product to show the custom fields as prices and I am certain many others will use this method also.

Any ideas or suggestions?

***2nd problem found***

When setting discounts in this system also it would seem that the cart variant price is struck off completely in the checkout:

Ie - product base price = 0.10
discount is set so the product base overridden to = 0.09
I choose the product with a cart variant price of 53.29

with all the prices shown here is what I see in the product:
Price:
Base price: £53.39
Base price for variant: £53.39
Sales price: £0.09
Sales price without tax: £53.39
Discount: £53.30

*** Product option chosen in dropdown
Lamp Option = 150w 14000k double ended halide = £53.29 ***

So I:
add product to cart
and this is what I see:

2.0.1d/2.0.1e - J1.7.3
Create a new category, and then create a new product. We are trying to give this product has just created a category - it's not on the list. All categories that were created in previous versions - are available for selection, but the categories created in the last two versions - not available.
These categories are published and can be seen in the list. They are also a search on the front page.

After upgrade from ver. 2 (experienced a problem after joomla upgrade to 2.5.1), the actegory is not showing all the products.
Currently there is only 1 category with two products. Both are published and showing at the backend.
But on the frontend, only one product is being displayed, and there is no sign of the second product.

I have setup shipping Method to be By weight, which is showing at backend (published), but when I try to checkout, the shipment method page shows Save/ Cancel, and nothing else. If I click on save, then I get redirected to home page.

I'm using VM2.0.1.e and Joomla 2.5.1. When checking out, PayPal gives the following error: Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address.

Thanks John.  I'll start watching that topic too.

Banquet, I cannot find "Only ship to confirmed address" in VM or PayPal.  But regardless, I didn't change anything except to upgrade to from VM 2.0.0 where it worked fine, to VM 2.0.1 where it doesn't accept PayPal payments.

In the paypal payment plugin, go into shop, payments, choose paypal and it is on the configuration page.

Hi Guys ,

I think that is a matter of wording here ?

* The statement "only ship to confirmed address" appears on our screens when we try to purchase at paypal. As I said earlier I have got that message and tried several times to fix that issues and resolved it by changing my paypal email address . For some it worked for some of you it did not.

* the Setting that cas is referring to is I think paypal>>configuration>> "only accept verified buyers"" - This may not be the setting you are looking. the two statements look the same but refer to separate settings. Turn it off and one just to try and let us know.

* Just a thought - Most of us have been trying to find the "confirmed address" or changing the vendors address etc

* I'm just wondering if it might be linked to the Group settings -
* Leave your paypal configuration setting as  "accept verified buyers " set to NO.
* go back to one product and make sure that in that product >>product settings>>shopper group>> is left blank ( don't choose anything). You will see the setting 'select some option' ( don't change it)
save and then test your product.

Why - becasue if you buy a product that is set to a shopper group paypal may not be able to configure the postage address? just a thought.

Again this might be the better forum to keep any eye out for a solution: https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=97642.0

My "Accept only verified buyers?" was already set to No.   And checkout with PayPal doesn't work in VM 2.0.1.  The question for the VM team is what changed between VM 2.0.0 where it worked, and VM 2.0.1 where it does not work.

Yes rupesh. But 2.0.1e is not released officially as 2.0.2 yet, because we advise to use akeeba, install the page locally and then just install vm2.0.1 over your vm2 with the joomla installer.

I have a question though. You say not to use automatic updater (I don't even know where to find that anyway). But how am I to replace the VM 2.0.0 that I have installed. Do I uninstall that and then install the latest 2.0.1 version? Do I also have to delete all the modules and plugins related to VM before the installation?

I have some demo products and variants made also for testing. Do I have make them again in the new version or is there a way to update without any destruction of products and custom fields etc.
The (automatic) updater link is on the VirtueMart Control Panel. It is a bit misleading, but there have been frequent warnings - it will only update (or downgrade!) to a RELEASED version - 2.0.1 is NOT a released version.

Use the Joomla Extension Manager to update from 2.0.0 to 2.0.1x.  It may be possible to use the Browse approach, but the host site may not allow it.  The alternative is to copy the new 2.0.1e files into the siteroot/tmp directory and click on "Install from Directory" - do this for the main update and then the aio part.  Ver 2.0.1x is an update, so you do not have to uninstall 2.0.0.

Check on your demo products.

Can I suggest some cosmetic changes? To tell the truth they were also two changes for usability.

First is in the product orders configuration:
http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/1719/vmfiltri.jpg
The checkbox must go before the label.

Second is in the toolbar in the admin: the orders of buttons is very "crazy"... i have to be a sniper to click the "new" button, that is the most used button.
Joomla have a more "usable" order. I think is a right thing to follow this order.
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/6518/vmordinebottoni.jpg

Third: please implement save&new and save as copy in the product and category editing page!
If I remember correctly in older versions of VM, these functions were added and good working (at least in full screen mode)

Thanks!!!

Using Joomla 1.7.5 and VM 2.0.1 f

Just updated my server - Paypal worked as is should  it worked in e as well.
( it would not work before for me - because I was using products that I'd created for different groups.

The problem for me was that I though I had to choose a group for every product - now I do not.

* I am using a real paypal site to test - I just made a product $1.00 to see how it goes.

* sorry this is really not helping some -

* could you again describe exactly what happens in paypal.
* do you actually see the option come up as a choice?
* do you purchase one product ( what currency?)
* or do you get right to the end it gets to the paypal site and you pay and then wait?
* For me remember I rolled my site back to 1.7.5 - I'm certainly not updating until I see some of you happy with the paypal situation in Joomla 2.5 +

Hi John,

I'm using Joomla 2.5.1 and VM 2.0.1.f.  Here's the details: With one product in the cart in US $, I press the Confirm Order button to check out, it goes to PayPal, but then PayPal immediately gives this message: Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address.

This exact product works fine start to finish with Joomla 2.5.1 and VM2.0.0.  Something changed between VM 2.0.0 and 2.0.1.

I do not have any shopper groups set for the products.  As an experiment since you mentioned shopper groups, I tried setting the shopper group for one product to -default- and then -anonymous-, but it gets the same PayPal error for both groups.

OK cas ,

I'm not the expert here but this message needs to be posted in this forum. Almost exactly.
The reason being is that : the paypal options and this message appears in this forum-read by another programmer - the actual one that writes that code, in paypal.

http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?board=131.0

Most people are still looking for this mysterious "address" to try and chnge it but I think that this message is decribing the wrong thing - the address is just an email link.
* the product is linked to the customers purchase is linked to his normal shopping group, which is linked to a "postal address" - but I'm sure the computer does not care about the actual postal address - unless the post code/zip code is incorrect.
* It is still looking for an email link.
* What you got is what I got - the first time round and I simply chnge the email address.

Look - put your message in the above forum and see if soemone other trhan me can help.

Just check for me that the vendor is also set to default "just the shopper "group - go into users. -

"with standard resizing option" is a bit confusing for me

What should we set exactly and where ?
Because, I've already set the default thumnail size (to 90x90) but then why the main picture is in a modal popup in the browse view and appear in full size without modal popup in the product details view ?
I've made an override for this view in my template/html/  for this, but did I missed something so ?

Thanks

maybe as many other we now have the problem to make a new installation with this great software because joomla 1.7 has end of life and is removed from the download page and VirtueMart 2.0.1 F still  shows some problems when when we use the latest joomla 2.5.1; some  white-black screens with php failures come up  while i try to add a payment, shipping or  tax-rule item and or when i want to create some manufactors inside VirtueMart. all other seems to work.  thoose failre looks like :

Fatal error: Call to a member function getListFooter() on a non-object in /is/htdocs/wp1179148_6O9G4X7DG0/www/travel42/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/views/paymentmethod/tmpl/default.php on line 122

what we can do here ?  is there any solution avaible right now  or  does the road map still have some entry with  joomla 2.5.1   support ?

Any of you with template views errors, first thing to check is that you have not done any overrides in your template's html directory. If you have the view overridden in there on an old version it can do this. I personally got stuck with this for a short while until I realised, IMO the stable version of VM should keep the view fundamentally the same between minor releases, this is the purpose of the overrides - so we do not have to restyle on each release and this at the moment is certainly not the case. Each minor update seems to error unless on a vanilla template (*ie no overrides)

When adding a custom Order Status, in the Order Status Details page, there is no entry field to accept the required Order Status Code.

Today ive upgraded to 2.1H
But since then I'm having a strange issue. When a customer completes an order. The customer and the backend receives the order displaying the ordered items 3 times. The order total is correct.
I don't understand why this happens, and i was wondering if I'm the only one with this issue?

I think we solved that already with a group by,.. I assume that you product is in 3 different categories, or?

I tested it and for me it works just fine, however the "agree to our terms" popup is not displaying properly for me, it is shown at the botom of the screen instead of the center.

- Edit: Another annoying thing i'm running into concerns the payment options, it constantly keeps adding the following "add a message to display with the order".
When i delete this text it just comes back, and even worse also shows up in the invoices.

Hey Milos,

That´s correct that the product is displayed in 3 diffrent categories. I´m glad its something known.
Can you tell me (where to find) the answer to correct this issue?

Thanx!

Hi Milbo,

I just upgraded to VM2.0.1.H and I have the same problem with it displaying the same product 5 times in one order.  The product is in 5 categories.

It was not fixed in VM2.0.1.H.  When will this be fixed?

Thanks,
Chuck

Team VM  any idea on when the authorize.net integration will be released in an official release of VM 2.0.X? I have downloaded and tested 2.0.1H and have found lots of strange errors, but the authorize.net code appears to work.

Thanks,

-bob

Hi,
I am using Joomla 2.5.1 and updated from VM2.0 stable release to 2.0.1h
I tested it on MySQL 5.0  and I did not had any issue on running or upgrading it.
Now the edit and add errors for category, shopper field ... are working.
I still do have an issue with the add to cart button. Before it was not reacting at all now it calls the cart but does not add any item.
What I figured out is that is in combination with SEO.
Would be great have it fixed in the next version.
