Title: VM-Users/Customers= Joomla-Users/Customers?
Post by: Pickeboe on January 13, 2012, 17:28:54 PM
Hi,

use VM the same userbase as Joomla?
Could an joomlauser login and buy in the VM-Shop without additional registering?
Will say: Is there only one registering for joomla AND vm?

User = Buyer/Customer in Frontend

greetings,
tom

Yes, but I think I should explain the system behind it.

jUsers get extended by the vmuser table.
Additionally to that missing data gets completed:
no shoppergroup assigned, wenn anonymous jUser =>anonymous shoppergroup, else registered.
no perm assigned, =>shopper, except an admin or superadmin logs in, then admin

So a joomla user can login,.. is automatically a recognised shopper and just need to add his address.

Milbo, I am so confused. I have built a website here at www.artattackgreetings.com which is Joomla 1.5 and VM 1.1.9. I am also working on an upgraded version of this website for my client here http://host7.revolutionwebstudios.com/~artattag . I noticed  from reading the forum that Customer Login now is tied to the Joomla users, thats fine.

What I have done is upgraded the site using jUpgrade and CSVI for product descriptions and so forth to Joomla 2.5 and VM 2.0. I can not for the life of me figure out why thye Customer login is cycling to a 404 error page, when I am logging in as an existing user that I used on the 1.1.9 version. Also, I can not figure out how come the button says "BUTTON_LOGIN" and where to change it. Things are so different in the VM 2.0. Could you give me some guidance.

Thanks,
Jeremy
