Title: Add To Cart Issue
Post by: kwaku on January 03, 2012, 01:31:11 AM
Hi Guys, Thanks so much for this powerful and great extension. By the way I'm having this problem. The installation and everything work fine but after testing the site, I realized that the add to cart only works in firefox and not in other browsers like safari, chrome. I've tried other ways like disabling the jquery etc but still to no avail. I am using joomla 1.7 and the the latest version of virtuemart (2.0). Please if there is any help out there I will greatly appreciate. Thx

kwaku you are loading two versions of jQuery. That is the most likely cause of the problem. See http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/General_JS-Problems_with_templates_and_jQuery

Three things,
1. Thanks Jenkinhill for your help.

2.  I've tried the second solution by editing the virtuemart.cfg file and changed google_jquery=1 to google_jquery=0 but I can't seem to locate or find and empty the  database  table _virtuemart_adminmenuentries.  I'm using FileZila. Please if you can guide me on how to go about it I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks again

3.  I've also tried to disable the jQuery in vm. When disabled the quantity controls is no longer active when clicked on. And when user clicks on the add to cart button it takes the user to cart with no items in the cart.

kwaku you empty database tables using phpMyAdmin. And you do need one version of jQuery running to enable add to cart etc in VirtueMart.

Another cause of possible conflict in your site may be the menu system - you are loading a large amout of JavaScript.

Thanks once again you've been very helpful. I managed to locate and empty the datatable _virtuemart_adminmenuentries. Awaiting to see what happens after refreshing. Will let you know how it goes.

Also you mentioned that another cause of conflict could be the menu system due to large amount of JavaScript. If that's the case, what will be the solution for that kind of issue. I want to know should in case the the first solution doesn't work.

Thanks

You could try with a different menu module.

I cant access the backend as it also comes with the same message error. Pls I really need some help now!

Go back to your last working backup.

And have a look at http://docs.joomla.org/Infinite_loop_detected_in_JError_in_Joomla_1.7

Hi is phpMyAdmin the only way to empty the database tables?

I managed to  change google_jquery=1 to google_jquery=0, but installing  phpMyAdmin seems a bridge to far for me.

Please help

if phpMyAdmin is not installed on the server you could maybe try something like HeidiSQL - http://www.heidisql.com/ - if the server allows it.

Hi Kelvyn,

phpmyadmin is already installed on the server by my provider! I can even get in!

Bu now I cannot find virtuemart_adminmenuentries........ Is that a sign something is wrong, or do I do not understand it?

Thanks for the help again!

Post by: Zatoon on March 15, 2012, 20:01:20 PM
Hello I represent www.zatoonstore.com and we just launched our store and we are having issues with our cart as well. We are running on joomla 1.5.20 and virtuemart 1.1.4. at times the cart works and most of the time it doesn't. Also when we add to cart and it works, we go to the cart and then is says cart is empty.

Our first customers told us that by the time they go to check out is takes them back to the cart. Please help us so we can have a successful experience with you component.
Thanks
Oscar for Zatoon

Hi Jenkinhill,

I'm using J2.5.2, VM2.0.2, PHP 5.3.8 and have my own VPS.

I got problem of add-to-cart button. Pop-up can display properly in Opera 11.5, Chrome 17, FF, IE9, Safari 5, but NOT IE8, IE7, Safari on iPad (especially my client wants the site to be able to load on iPad). Please help me to check.

I tried to disable VM JQuery, disable external GG JQuery. The same problem still there.

The current http://casafortegroup.com/sf/index.php/shop here is with GG JQuery enabled and VM JQuery disabled.

--------------------

By the way, the popup window of extra product images when clicking thumbnail in product details doesn't have the prev/next button.
How can I fix this? http://casafortegroup.com/sf/index.php/books/how-to-decorate-detail

-------------------

In the product category view, http://casafortegroup.com/sf/index.php/bedlinen , when we click on drop-down list of "List by 3,6,9,12 ", it can't run properly and directs us to shop front-page.

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Will

Hi willxiao0790
Did you resolve your issue as I'm getting the same problem with add to cart on IE7.  Works fine on IE9 and firefox.   The ajax box on IE7 doesn't display nor is the cart module on the page updated.
I tried disabling the Jquery in the virtuemart but this stop it working and sends the page to the cart page without a product.
Site is www.makeupstoreonline.com.au/index.php
Running VM 2.0.2 and Joomla 1.7.5

Wondering if anyone has Solved this yet?

Getting the same issue as W2kR except it's Chrome and IE9 not working - no Added to Cart Pop-up and Empty Cart.

Everything is great in Firefox.
Tried disabling VM-jquery and all browsers go straight to cart which is fine but no products in cart...

Using Joomla 1.7.2
VM 2.0.8c

Thanks for any help with this!  Pullling my hair out trouble shooting this.
I'll ready re-installed VM twice!

EDIT-

Upgraded to PHP 5.3
Back end works fine..jquery menu etc.

Tried swapping out Templates for Store..using Beez5..  still doesnt work with Chrome or IE

EDIT EDIT..
Figured it out.  checked configuration file   www.  vs.  non-www
using Jquery Easy and
Upgraded to 2.0.8e working well with J 1.7.2 in Chrome, FF, IE9
