i have tried j1.5.22 and j1.6 but same errors:

pls advise.
This is strange, please post the exact name of the zip file and your server system.
Long time ago somebody with the same problem used "Install from Directory" in the Joomla Extension Manager instead and this worked for him.
Of course you need to copy the Virtuemart installation file into "Install Directory" ...\tmp folder shown in the Extension Manager first.
