Title: VirtueMart 1.1.6 Language Pack?
Post by: robert101083 on December 02, 2010, 02:35:16 am
Hi,

I just like to know if there is a Language Pack for VirtueMart 1.1.6 yet?

If so, can anybody please tell me where I can find it?
If not, where will I be able to find it when it is available?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,
Robert

Why do you think that? As far as I know, there always has been a language pack for every version.

I'm not really familiar with the translating process (I belief there is "special" software or a component to make it easier) and I'm way to busy. But every time I post a question at the forum, I try to answer a couple (5 or more) of unanswered posts.  ;D

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy new year you to
No it's not a software ..infact it is really easy to translate you must go to site root administrator/components/com_virtuemart/languages and open every folder common, help..and translate the php file. here is some example
'PHPSHOP_PRODUCT_FORM_VENDOR' => 'Vendor', = replace vendor with your translation

I think its the Language Manager (http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=36269.0) I was talking about, never used it. But it's not that easy to translate. The line you translate has to make sense in you own / an other language as well. I belief just translating a file, without looking at the context it's being used in will give you bad translations.

i tried to explain you the process of the translation, because i think the language pack for the last version will not show up soon..And yes if you want to do that by yourself you must check first the context..I'll try to translate the frontend for couple of languages in the next period..if the time is gonna let me do that..

Use Language_Pack_for_VirtueMart_1.1.4.zip  - there are no differences for VM1.1.5 or 1.1.6

Solved the issue. the file you need is located in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/languages/common/english.php

Just FTP and copy the english.php to a text editor or dreamweaver. Open up say google translate etc and edit all the entries in quotes after => to your new language

Then save it as say spanish.php for Spanish etc

it works.Use Joomfish for the rest of the site. Will do until we get a set created by us on forum.
