Title: Payment options
Post by: Hskaug on October 03, 2010, 02:02:18 am
I have made a small store with Virtuemart and are almost finish.
I will only use Paypal as payment option at the checkout.
So I have only activated "Paypal" and "paypal API" inn the "payment method list".
Not sure why I have to activate both of these, but if I only activate "Paypal API",
I will not be rederected to Paypal`s payment site.
Is this of it is, or haveI missed something?

And at the step where costumers have to choose the payment options, I was thinking that sinse I only activated the Paypal method, that would be the only option there.
But thats not the case, I got 3 options
1. Is a Paypal option with the paypal logo (this is the only one i want)
2. Credit Card (this option doesnt work)
3. Paypal option again but this doesnt work

Anybody that know of to get ridd of the two options that doesnt work?
I added a picture to help understand my problem.
Im greatful for all kind of help.

Best regards

Did you ever get a reply to this?  I too am wanting to remove the credit card part from PayPal API, it doesn't do anything any different to the PayPal bit but it just confuses people!

It seems that paypal payment gateway in the virtuemart has problems. Many clients found their paypal payment not workign.

I'm having this same problem. Except I only have new PayPal API checked. This removed one of the PayPal options, but I still get a "Payment Method" box with "Credit Card" as the only option. This is shown below the PayPal option, but is selected by default. The PayPal method is functioning properly, I just need to remove the unwanted Credit Card option and only offer PayPal. Please tell me where I can find this code to remove it. This would be considered a bug, wouldn't it?

I'm struggling with the same thing, seems utterly illogical. If anyone has any ideas it would be seriously appreciated!

Not sure what the problem is here, but in Virtumart Payment List you can click on the Credit Card Option ticks to make the Crosses x then they disappear from your website.
If you are talking about the PayPal Page. If a customer does not have a PayPal account  when they get to the PayPal page the will be offered Credit Card option on the left or PayPal login on the right.
If the Customer does have a PayPal account then the page is offered with the PayPal login only, however there is still a link to go to a Credit card payment on the left.

Edit this file:

Change this (line 23):
if ($cc_payments==true) {

if ($cc_payments==false) {

This worked for me to remove the credit card payment and all the fields for it.
Then I just enabled the one I needed on the control panel (bank deposit)

see results:
