Thanks for the notice. Can you clarify a bit why this is a release candidate for a version 1.1.4. There have been prior notes about a new VirtueMart 1.2 with a nightly build available for developers.

As there were not RCs for the version 1.1.3, can you explain to any user what exactly makes this version 1.1.4 differ from others and requires a release candidate status before a stable release.

The second question would be, how current the roadmap is? It was recently stated that version 1.2 should be released soon, in the forums one could read about this coming version 1.1.4. Is there any way to give a current and actual status about coming releases and most importantly, the features that may be implemented besides improvements seen in the changelog provided?

Thanks!

It is a release candidate because we don't want to have the same issue(s) as 1.1.3 example 'Internet Operation' error.

I can't comment on unreleased or planned versions.

I suggest you try 1.1.4RC on none production site and give feedback, if no bugs are reported we will release 1.1.4 Stable in coming week(s).

Okay, I understand and read about the issues that came up after 1.1.3 was released. Good idea with the RC for this version indeed, so keep up the good work and thanks again!

Hi,

After having many issues (Which, I found in the BugTracker, so nothing new to report) with 1.1.3 which caused me to abandon my new project, I am happy to say that using the 1.1.4RC, none of these issues present themselves during my test.

I cant wait for this to become a stable release so that I can continue my project.

Many thanks!

Craig Gunn.

Hi fRIENDS,

i have installed  VirtueMart 1.1.4 Release Candidate and tested at my local machine every thing is fine but at the time of Complete Order stage i got the following error

----------------------
Shipping Address:   No valid database connection You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND state_2_code=''' at line 1 SQL=SELECT * FROM jos_vm_state WHERE country_id= AND state_2_code=''

here i logged in as admin and have no address entered in the table.

i hope development team will note this point.

Thanks

You answered your question, you have no address, add address and everything should be ok.

Basically i think if address is not entered then there should be blank instead of giving error mysql error.

Thanks.

I too would like to know an approximate ETA as I am planning an International tour for a band and would like to be able to sell tickets thru a VM store, but with the issues (As I mentioned above) surrounding 1.1.3, I would hate to have to hand over ticketing to someone else because I had no idea about when we can see a stable 1.1.4.

I know the developers probably have a million other things going on in their lives, but an update would be appreicated, the R.C works fine for me and solves all the 1.1.3 issues I had.

This all looks great.  I am still looking for the main request to be addressed that seems to get back-burnered...and it is very rarely even addressed and it is mostly ignored.

THAT of being able to PULL or list items from the current store items and sell them as a kit or bundle.  This would allow for better inventory control and alleviate the need to duplicate items in a kit.

When building a parent item.  We should be able to select the products we want to add to it already from the store...or ADD a new item that then becomes part of the master inventory.

Right now, if my client sells an item that is a kit.  The child items are DUPLICATE items with NEW sku numbers.  They have 150+ kits and there are items in the store that might be part of ALL the kits.  Having to duplicate them 150+ times is very much a hassle and the main factor why my clients choose NOT to use VirtueMart.

All in ALL..The store is good..I like it...but this Kit and Bundled items is HUGE and needs to be addressed!

Thanks all

Eric

I'm running the new virtuemart 1.1.4rc build and every time I access my product details page, I encounter the following error...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/public_html/site_name/components/com_virtuemart/themes/vm_theme/templates/common/product_type.tpl.php on line 30

Apart from this error, everything seems to be perfect. Please help solve this issue. Thanks.

More info is needed as I can not duplicate this, where do you get the error, in frontend or in administration.

It seems you are not using default VirtueMart template.

The issue shows up in the frontend. It shows the error above the product type information displayed in the flypage (product details page). Also, I just tried it with the default vm theme and it still shows the same error...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/public_html/site_name/components/com_virtuemart/themes/default/templates/common/product_type.tpl.php on line 30

You could but is not recommended for production/live site because no update path will be available from 1.1.4RC to 1.1.4Stable.

You could try on a backup site or development site.

Hi,

Just taking a look at 1.1.4. Looks good but the backend order change does not recalculate the tax based on the altered order. Tax amount remains the same as in 1.1.3...

Any plans to address this issue before the stable release of 1.1.4?

Just to give you an idea, this feature would be very useful in situations where a partial refund occurs, an order change or alteration, or a situation where an ordered product is substituted for another due to inventory shortage. It also keeps tracking of taxes, returns...etc more manageable.

To further this I just tried changing only the payment option in the backend orders and it set the tax amount to $0.00 once I hit update.

Many users ask about 1.1.4, I know everyone is waiting for 1.1.4 instead of waiting please test 1.1.4RC and report bugs in Q&T board as suggested in the first post, if you have tested and haven't found a bug than reply to this post and mention that you tested and didn't find any bug.

By waiting and complaining nothing will be done.

If you guys provided upgrade path to 1.1.4 you would have accomplished testing much faster because a lot of people out there are willing to take a chance with their live shop and install a "release candidate" on a production site.

Also testing on a production sites is by far more valuable because it happens in real world environment.

Many other open source projects provide the upgrade path even to alpha versions of their releases and most provide upgrade path to RC versions.

Here is CivicRM as an example: http://civicrm.org/node/616

I have tested it since the beginning of this week combined with Rockettheme's Mynxx template and didn't find any issues.

The only thing I haven't tested is an actual complete order of a product (including payment).

I notice a lot of people in this forum thread mention having clients who need an upgrade and also projects on hold awaiting 1.1.4. If so many of you are making money from Virtuemart; are the same amount of people actually contributing to help the development of the project? I have Virtuemart installed for 2 clients and I have contributed to both Virtuemart and to Mark MaCalf for usng one of his hacks/features.

The cost was minimal compared to buying a commercial package. So come on and play fair. Contribute if you want progress.

Title: Re: VirtueMart 1.1.4 Release Candidate
Post by: Christopher Wilkinson on September 16, 2009, 22:45:43 PM
That's true. I wouldn't mind paying for this component but I'd prefer to pay for the completely reworked version as mentionned elsewhere on this site. I wouldn't mind paying for a solution like Magento but I'm very happy with my Mynxx template from Rockettheme designed specifically for Virtuemart (which I obviously bought as well), so I'm hoping that with the new update everything is stable enough to finally go live. If you want me to pay for the update, fine as long as it reasonable.

Unfortunately I have no programming skills and I don't trust a programmer reworking the virtuemart component in a way it's non-updateable afterwards and I'm stuck with that programmer forever as he knows how he reworked the code.
I have been that road before for totally different IT solutions, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I JUST donated to VM. One thing mentioned above is that you dont want to pay until the next version. You are DONATING to a PROJECT. By doing so, your money go towards any and all versions that are being worked on, including time being spent right now on getting the next version done.
Title: Re: VirtueMart 1.1.4 Release Candidate
Post by: Christopher Wilkinson on September 17, 2009, 23:19:49 PM
I'm saying I would pay an equal price for Virtuemart's new version as Magento.

I'll donate once I get a final release date of 1.1.4 and it is actually released on that date. You'll have to trust me on that.

PS: If money is an issue, why not sell the updates?

Ok, did some more testing with the RC1 of 1.1.4. The Tax situation on the backend is better but from what I have found still needs work. The tax calculation is only working if I change the number of units of products that have already been ordered. If I add a new product, or change the sale price the tax calculation resets back to 0.00. Also, not sure whats going on with the front end but I have tax set based on shipping address. Once the user logs in the sale price changes to include the tax rate for that product. On page four the subtotal includes the tax and theres a total tax number at the bottom. Its not adding it together but still is confusing. In the image note that the retail price is set at 50.00 and the tax rate is 5%.

Here is product list pagination fix for Admin Backend. Seem to be a Javascript issue when more then 21 products in the list view?

in file com_virtuemart\classes\pageNavigation.class.php

replace line 149 (1 line) that reads:

Quotehtml .= "\n<li><a href=\"#$i\" class=\"pagenav\" onclick=\"javascript: document.adminForm.limitstart.value=$page; document.adminForm.submit();return false;\"><strong> $i </strong></a></li>";

to (2 lines - if you are using SSL then replace http with https)

Quote$pageURL .= $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].$_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"];
$html .= "\n<li><a href=\"http://$pageURL&limitstart=$page\" class=\"pagenav\"><strong> $i </strong></a></li>";

By now VM1.1.3 need some hack to work with Joomfish. I hope VM1.1.4 solve this problem.

So if I overrdie VM 1.1.3,which is ok with Joomfish now, can it still work fine?

I'm running the new virtuemart 1.1.4rc build and every time I access my product details page, I encounter the following error...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/public_html/site_name/components/com_virtuemart/themes/vm_theme/templates/common/product_type.tpl.php on line 30

Apart from this error, everything seems to be perfect. Please help solve this issue. Thanks.

Any update on this issue since i have same exact problem in the stable release version 1.1.4 of virtuemart ?

Can not duplicate it, are you getting the exact same error? If so you are using custom theme and you need to update the files.

my clients have the same error showing up:
AND state_2_code=''' at line 1 SQL=SELECT * FROM jos_vm_state WHERE country_id= AND state_2_code=''

How to fix this in the database?

Hello,

I have one issue regarding Virtuemart 1.1.4. Issue is:

when I clicks on 'add to cart' button, instead of going to checkout page, it goes to virtuemart browse page, mean main/front virtemart page. It happens only on some products. Other products are working fine.

Plz resolve this asap.

Regards,
