Post by: ladadron on July 07, 2008, 12:16:09 pm
Hi all  :)

I've just installed VirtueMart and it's really good component but I have a simple question... where can I put the information about my debit/credit card where the clients will pay/send the money for the products? I suppose that I have to put this information in the cp of VirtueMart but I don't know where  :-[ Can you help me :-\

perhaps you would get more help if your topic / subject heading indicated what your question was about.
have you configured payment options in the configuration panel?

Are you understand me?  :-\ I've configured the payment options but they are for the clients, the way that they can pay, isn't? I need to find where can I enter my credit number.

I'm sorry 'ladadron' but to my knowledge that is not the way things work, not in VM, nor in real life.

For example; I as a private person can't sent money to your private credit card. The card in itself is not an account, it's only a mean for transactions to be registered. It is then connected to an account (in a bank or financial company), where the actual money are
registered. Handling of credit card transactions are done by secured and certified companies.

In VM, the card function is for the customers credit card number. All depending on if you yourself are running a secure site with secure transaction (https). Which is a function you pay for.

Normally you would use a partner like PayPal for example, to handle your transaction.
(Or use invoice...)

Of course you can expose your private (or company) bank account number for your customers, ask them to pay you in advance, and upon receiving payment you ship your product (or initiate the download). But from a security perspective it's not very sound.

Hope it clarified things a bit...
