i created menu links to each manufacturer, i see breadcrumbs :: SITE.RU > BenQ > BenQ , first BenQ have link site.ru/benq/details
must be only site.ru/benq/
because link in menu item is index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=manufacturer&layout=details&virtuemart_manufacturer_id=12
no chanse have to good templating and have good sef urls with in Virtuemart 3.8.7 10378 ...
this is old mystical no coincidence..
pls made very cool Virtuemart manufacturers layout, tpl and menu items , links in menu, settings to hide all main shop categories on each manufacturer.. sef, breadcrumbs urls

URL for manufacturer detail is wrong from VM25 still (wrong for logic and SEO) - sorry.
We use Artio SEF, and in 2015 contacted this company about rewrite router for manufacturer, but that was not features for developing for them.
Then we created little hack:
For manufacturer details we use link for category shop for all products with filtering manufacturer - hack in VM Manufacture Module for URL
and on this site bellow manufacture name we added custom modul with loading manufacture info (name, description, logo) from DB.
next link in Breadcrumbs was ok
But is 4 years ago, then you nust check on VM 3.8.7 :)
cant create /brands/manufacturers/brand1..100 links by joomla menu... to each manufacturer i try your hack,
i dont wont create links menu... i try seo friendly hard jroute but is denial failure)))
