I'm trying to figure out the best solution to let customers select a "free shipping" option and supply their own freight account.
We've been refunding shipping charges to customers that include an account in the order notes section, and then have to go through issuing a partial refund...
Anyone do something like this of have a suggestion?

How does that work? Do the supply you with their account details or?
Sometimes they call after placing an order, but they typically include it in a message in the order notes.
I'd really like a field that would be available with a "Use Your Account" shipping option.
just use the standard VM weight/countries shipping plugin with no charge and label it "Use Your Account"
Yeah, I'll mess with that. I guess I could create a custom field where they can enter their acct. number.

To offer free shipping, you will either have to eat the shipping cost if you have a high AOV (hoping that the extra sales will offset the costs), offer a minimum spend threshold (e.g., free shipping on all orders over $60), or increase your product price. I got to this after figuring out various causes but no more doubts as I do love shipping with UPS and FedEX.
