I'm new with VirtueMart 3.8.2 10325 which is running on Joomla 3.9.18
My website is selling digital products so I do not care about stock management. I can add them to basket and buy them with Paypal an a Sandbox account. All the things are running customer get a PDF invoice and I'm notified by email. However, if you want to get more details on a product, when clicking on button "Product details" you always get an annoying message telling that the product is out of stock! It make me nuts and I do not understand why in fact.

thank you for your reply. I have changed as suggested the configuration with "Products Out of Stock are orderable, no special action".
When I go back to my products there is now only one product instead of two. In the configuration, in Product Listing I have tick "Display stock level" for troubleshooting. So it seems that VirtueMart is still checking the stock of my products! Why? I have changed to 9999 the number of available product to one of them and I can see a green status. My problem is still unsolved because if I click on the button "Product details" I still have the out of stock message!
To summarize I can add the product to the basket but I cannot see the details because VM is considering that it runs out of stock!

I think checkbox (Stockhandling on product level) there is parent for selected value Product Out Of Stock....
must be check.
No turn off product handling at product level if You have it activated.
Yes VM still counts down stock. But there is no special action taken and You can buy the item and put it in the cart wihout any notice.
If You do not want to show stock then please turn of the "show nomber of items in stock" in configuration.
You must have wrong settings I have tested this on VM 3.8.2.10325, it works as intented.
Please clean your cache and try again.

and if this continues to annoy just set your stock to 999999999
VM as Jörgen says still counts it for record keeping, sales info etc
