Hi There - I think this is wishfull thinking but I was hoping to re-use the "related products" functionality to create a new field entitled "you may also need"
I need both related products and a new SEPARATE set of products I can link to.
When looking the custom fields config options I noticed that you can indeed create a new custom field and choose "related products" as the field type. But alas this does not have any effect on the custom fields tab within the product - IE no new section appears with the heading "you may also need".
Can anyone advise if this may be possible using another method?

Yes but is that tottaly separate list from the Native VM related products? - I need 2 independently controlled lists
I use this plugin for 4 independent lists. Works perfectly.
If you do not want to create your own lists for each product manually, a module with predefined templates may suffice for:

Yes, the question was: plugin for duplicate related products.
The answer is that a possible solution to the problem is not necessarily in duplicate related products.
I would also need duplicate related product functionality and plan to program it, but if you already have it, I look forward to seeing it and test if it will suit :)
