Hi, I have a client site at https://halcyondaze.com/anniesattic/online-shopping/childrensbooks86 that uses Joomla3.9.6 and VM 3.4.2.
My problem is all the product pages are arranged in a list. I'd like them to be in a grid format but nothing I change in the configuration seems to make a difference.
Can any body suggest how to fix this?

You can set the number of column in each category and ahve a main setting for it in the Virtuemart config and you can redefine it in the Joomla menu items.
In all case, your template do not have any styles for VM

yes .. you have

the 1 means u have set the display to one product per row
