Title: VM User Registration
Post by: Dougj on May 03, 2019, 01:32:32 AM
I have used Joomla for some time now but until yesterday I have never used VirtueMart.  I am in the middle of a site refresh for a site that takes memberships so I thought VM would be a good choice.  In the past I used Community Builder as my new user registration and login module and then I used a third party app for payment.  However, I am now looking to try a new option.

I do still have community builder installed with several hundred users registered on my site using CB.  When I installed VirtueMart I though I could replace the CB registration and login modules with those in VM.  Under components>VirueMart I do see a "shoppers" menu item and it seems to have self populated from my CB, or Joomla, user database.

However, and this may very well be a really stupid question, I do not see any VM modules or menu items that suggest they are for Login or user registration.  What am I missing?

Vm use standard Joomla user registration + paiement address combined.
You can add menu for orders list, cart, address

Thanks for the response.  Does community builder integrate with VM?  I have too many required fields to use the default Joomla registration.

You can modify the address to add any fields and prevent direct Joomla user registration to force user to use Vm form. In this case user and main (bill) address is saved at same time on register.
