Hello,

I am new to Virtuemart, but not to Joomla, and I am having some trouble finding a way to import products for a client. Is there a simple, free way to import multiple products (including images) using a spreadsheet?

Not free but you have 2 tools.
Vm be Pro From me, you can use a csv or ods or xls(very slow) and CSVI.

I have seen your product VM BE PRO and it looks good, but does it allow me to import images at the same time?

you have a ajax image upload tool, this directly save images and add entry in the VM media database.
In your product import sheet you can add a column :
media
image1.jpg|image2.jpg|imageX.jpg|imageZ.jpg
In my shop > vm be pro page, you can download a file with all explains and i assist customers, if they have import problems.
Note that it support import in same .ODS sheet categories,manufacturer,products,customfields, prices,stock updates .... and translations
