I need your advise...
In my eShop I have:
- Physical products that are shipped
- Downloadables products that are downloaded
- I'd need to have a 3rd type: Totally Virtual products that will not be shipped nor downloaded.
That would be to use for donations, memberships, subscriptions. (clients will get the rights from the Group where Add Buyers to Joomla Groups for VirtueMart would add them)

Is there an « easy » way to do it directly in Virtuemart without using membership components?

I am wondering if I could create a new kind of downloadable products for membership or donation...
I use Shipments- Shipment for Virtual Products plugin for downloadable products. Perhaps I could add a Custom field specially created for this kind of products: 'Completely Virtual'.
Then with a customized PHP, we check if the product has the custom field named 'Completely Virtual'. If yes we don't show the downloadable link and we don't show any shipment during checkout... The payment is valided, Nothing is sent, No file is downloaded, and then the user is added to the relevant group by Add Buyers to Joomla Groups for VirtueMart
It could work, no?
A better suggestion?
You can use a category filter in the shipment and name it "no shipment" to use only for this type of products.

With your solution, no need to hack Shipments- Shipment for Virtual Products plugin, right?
This do not change other shipment plugins, you have to add it to your current shipment or replace old shipments.
There's a misunderstanding:
I was just asking if your plugin could completely resolve my problem...
Initially, I wanted to customize the Milbo's plugin for downloaded products (Shipments- Shipment for Virtual Products plugin) to create Totally Virtual products.
But now I am wondering if your Virtuemart shipping with filter and price rules could be the complete solution for Totally Virtual products.
It can be a solution, if i understand right your problem, but i dont know your shop and how you handel all.
