Title: VM 3.4.29966 causing site to site to crash

I am updating VM on my site from 3.2.14 to 3.4.2, but every time I install update it causes my site to crash. The only way to fix is to restore from backup. Is this a bug or something else? My site is on joomla 3.8 and PHP 5.6

logs? errors? debug?

probably not connected but php5.6 is getting very old now .. I run all mine on php7.2

do you have a "test" or "development" domain? xampp etc?

You need to have error reporting on to see the problem.

IF YOU HAVE A TEST DOMAIN ETC, NOT A LIVE SITE.

if the installer is failing, you could do a ftp style upload, and then go to the extension manager/discover
