Title: SEF Doubles
Post by: d0ublezer0 on August 10, 2018, 07:56:11 AM
We have some category, for example: https://www.road.media/headunit/mitsubishi
this is normal URL
but if we add some trash to url it will be opened like there is normal place
https://www.road.media/sdkfjsahhu27/987987/mitsubishi
where is 404 error?

No VM version given ...

There is a configuration that turns off VM handling 404.

Turning off SEF urls in Joomla config did not bring anything useful

I understood what's the matter, this is not a SEF or routing problem.

The problem is known long time ago: https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=119171.0
When the VM is installed as the main page, the error handling is wrong
and in the absence of a section or product, the VM still displays a suitable (in its opinion) section or redirects to the main page.
there is a solution with a core hack, but this excludes the convenience of updating - each time you need to add it manually.

You are in a forum to share, so please explain, if you can help and with some luck your code get added in core a day.

I'm sure this was discussed at length here.. or was it in the testers Skype group?

This is what Google says about 'add some trash to an url':
"If you don't recognize a URL on your site, you can ignore it. These errors occur when someone browses to a non-existent URL on your site - perhaps someone mistyped a URL in the browser, or someone mistyped a link URL."
