Hi VM team!
After update from 3.2.12 to 3.2.14:9808 the direct link to orders does not work anymore - neither in backend nor in confirmation e-mails.
Can you, please, give me a hint, how to fix that?
Thank you very much in advance!
Kind regards,
Gerald
Hi again!
I found out something interesting:
Actually also the form for online view of orders does not work anymore.
Kind regards,
Gerald
Hi!
More interesting:
When I enter the order number and secret order pass, nothing happens except the view order form disappearing.
When I now login, the correct order is displayed directly.
The same with the direct link:
Following the link displays the login form.
After logging in the correct order is displayed.
What is the problem with frontend order view now?
Kind regards,
Gerald
This was turned off for security reason if I remeber correctly
Check setting under configuration->checkout : Order tracking mode

Hi!
Thank you for your hint.
I found that topic:
List orders via secret key (https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=139301.0)
In VM documentation I cannot find that new feature:
Configuration (https://docs.virtuemart.net/manual/configuration-menu/configuration.html)
Does anyone know by any chance, where I can find documentation about it?
Kind regards,
Gerald

Check setting under configuration->checkout : Order tracking mode
Check back end of VM on Your site. The mouse over info gives enough hints.

Hi!
I did read and study it:
"The order link for guest shoppers allows them to see their order without login and further checks. The mode 'Registered and guests shoppers' provides more security and prevents that guest shoppers can see orders of registered shoppers."
Actually there are four (not like explained two) options:
- None
- Only for registered shoppers
- Registered and guest shoppers
- Provide link for guest shoppers
Maybe I am too stupid, but I am afraid I do not understand the mouse over information :-[
Can anyone, please, explain the four options for a "dummy"?
Kind regards,
Gerald
I guess it works this way:
- None = No one gets acccess to order links
- Only for registered shoppers = Registered shopper get access to order link
- Registered and guest shoppers = Registered shopper and and guest shopper get access to order link
- Provide link for guest shoppers = Provide link only for guest shoppers
The best way is to try and see what happens.

Hi!
@Jörgen:
Thank you very much for taking time explaining.
@VM team:
It would be great, if you could add this new config option to the VM documentation.
And the labels of the option maybe could be more self-explanatory and precise (even more in German).
I hope my feedback is useful for you.
Thank you very much in advance!
Kind regards,
Gerald
Hi!
QuoteRegistered and guest shoppers = Registered shopper and and guest shopper get access to order link
I have set the option to this setting, but still the user has to login when using the link.
Seems as if the issue I posted at the beginning of this topic still is unsolved ... :-\
Anyone any idea?
(it would be great to have the VM team being interested in this issue, too ;))
Kind regards,
Gerald
I use "provide link to guest users".

But then registered users do not get the link anymore, do they?
Test and You will find out 8)

The type of the link is the difference. One type needs a login, but shows then directly the correct order, the other type does not need any login.
Hi!
Thank you, Max, for your explanation:
QuoteThe type of the link is the difference. One type needs a login, but shows then directly the correct order, the other type does not need any login.
Which type is which option?
And there are three options - what is the third option?
Kind regards,
Gerald

"The order link for guest shoppers allows them to see their order without login and further checks. The mode 'Registered and guests shoppers' provides more security and prevents that guest shoppers can see orders of registered shoppers."
2. It means we set a link with "virtuemart_order_id", which is not revealing the ordernumber or anything similar, only for registered.
3. We use the link for registered as in 2nd, but not for guests.
4. The old system, the email just provides a link to access an order without being logged in.
Actually 3. is almost the best, we just need an extra feature, which blocks the guest auth check after 2 weeks.
Hi!
Thank you for your explanation.
Actually, what is the difference between option 2 and 3?
Both are not for guests ...
Kind regards,
Gerald
3. Guest shoppers get the old link, but not registered ones. Imho.
vm forum is the vm documentation :-)
