Greetings.

My current store is Joomla 3.8.7 with Virtuemart 3.2.14. At the moment i'm on a localhost.
I'm having the following problem with custom fields.
I'm adding the variants but instead of show me the variations it deploys 5 instances of the list!

I need to know how can i set the products this way.

For the virtuemart core. An instance is an option in the list.
If you want group the list, then you need to check for plugins, but the result is right in the front.

I'm a bit confused. I used to do that way in vieruemart 2.X that setting the values with price variants. Now it is mandatory such external plugin?

Certainly your customfield main settings are bad.
Change setting Is a list? to "As Adminlist"
Cart Attribute "No"
Cart Input "Yes"
