I have restarted twice because i thought i was doing something wrong, but the moment i add a new category the whole system breaks.

i cannot change anything anymore cannot add anything it just stops working

ah i am sorry this is my first time here. VirtueMart 3.2.12 and VirtueMart 3.2.8
Joomla- 3.8.2

php 5.4

it worked fine while i was renaming the the categories bt the moment i added a new one the issues occur.

Try to clear your Joomla cache, it can help.

I restart again and that issue went away, i think it was was something to do with the template i am using,
the only issue i am having now is loading the shop itself.

If i press the shop link it loads the shop but i cannot view any items no matter what option i select.
/shop is empty
/men is where everything gets stored for some reason

You should remove the Joomla menu item link to men, it is certainly set to root category.

Check your Joomla menus - in Joomla. Menus/All Menu Items would be a start.

I am not understanding, i dont have a link to men nor any category called men.
I make the layout and somehow its basically duplicated same thing repeats on shop and in men however only men shows the items

Search in your Joomla menu items.
You have a link with alias "men".
Remove it and all should work !
