Title: Link in mail vendor
Post by: luckymentrix on March 05, 2018, 22:23:53 PM
Hi,

As a vendor you get a mail when an order is made. This mail looks like the order confirmation mail which de buyer also gets. But in my case there is something weird. Normally the product name in the mail is a link. When you click it you go to the website and see the product which is bought. Strangely enought this is not the case. The buyer do get a mail with the name of the products as a link but the vendor not. The products are shown but these are not links.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Hope you guys can help me.

Are you sure that you are using the original VM email templates? The product link in the vendor email works on all my VM 3.2.12 and 3.2.13 installations.

What Joomla template do You use now?
If the original Beez or Protostar, then just reeinstall vM 3.2.12.

It is no original, it is custom. And a lot of work to reinstall. Hoping to fix it without reinstall

To re-install VM should be a very simple job, the existing component is not deleted first so all products & data are not compromised. The relevant VM component package is installed using Joomla's extensions manager. This is also the way to update VM. The only issue would be if core edits were made to the original VM component files, which is never recommended.

However a re-install of VM seems not to be necessary, it is possible that the VM override files in your custom template have incorrect code. Check with ftp to see if your template includes mail overrides. These will be in templates/[your-joomla-template]/html/com_virtuemart/invoices  - compare the files with those in components/com_virtuemart/views/invoice/tmpl

If there are no override files there then yes, you do need to re-install VM, although probably better to update to VM 3.2.13.9797 which seems pretty stable - files are in http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files
