Notice that I go to a product, select the first option and nothing happens (ajax issue?). Then, if I refresh the page, make a selection in that first box, the other options are then loaded.
Has anyone seen anything like this before, and what would you charge to fix it by Friday, Feb 23?
You can have an obsolete Template or a javascript issue because bad settings in Virtuemart.
It's hard to say when you have no access to the page having the problem.

I would suggest that you create a test user account for the 'Registered' user group and post the test user name and password here in the forum, so that forum members can inspect that behavior with a developer toolbox. You can disable or delete the test user afterwards.
Also, which versions of Joomla and VirtueMart do you use?
