My customer has a list of units that also have associated parts to each unit. He does not use online ordering, so no need for shopping cart in this case. I have the following requirements to adhere to
1. Each unit can have 0 or 9 parts
2. Each part must be searchable
3. The business owner needs to be able to easily add parts, so it can't just be hard coded html
I have tried custom fields, child products, and related products but none of them seem to fit exactly. I think related products might be a good option but I want them to be called "Parts" not "Related Products".
Any advice on the best way to acheive this?

Use Joomla language overrides and change the text for language key : COM_VIRTUEMART_RELATED_PRODUCTS
Choose anything that You want instead.
