Seems like the backend search is no longer returning child products.
Is this a bug or i am missing something?

Can not confirm this, have You some category active in filter ? Uncategorized Children do then not appear.

I confirm with 3 different installations after upgrade from 3.2.2 VM to 3.2.6 and J3.8.2 The backend search of products listing does not return ANY uncategorized products parents or otherwise.
Is this a bug to solve?

You are correct, UNCATEGORIZED product do not show in the search, categorized child or parent product do. Can confirm this VM3.2.6, Joomla 3.8.2

Hello, thank you for your quick reply, since this can be problem, especially when child products usually don't have categories we cannot search and edit them if needed - it is impossible to go from page to page when a shop has 10000 products, do you have a suggestion or solution?
I confirm that uncategorised products are not returned.

Hello You could try any of these
- Wait for VM 3.2.8
- Install the latest version from SVN
- Search for the parent and go from the parent down to the Child Product for editing.
