I can't seem to find any reliable info on what the PayPal IPN url should be. Is this listed anywhere (for the various versions of VM - because the url it seems to have changed over the years)? Thanks!
It is listed on the PayPal technical support site. And I think I have published the actual URL in a thread here some time ago.

You should not need to enter ANY URL in the PaYpal website regarding IPN.
The notify URL - is sent as part of the PayPal transaction. Any url you enter will not be used by PayPal for VM

You need to turn it on.
And yes (annoyingly) you have to put some URL to save it - So just put any URL e.g. your mainpage.
It will not be used because VirtueMart sends the correct IPN URL in the transaction.
