Hi!
I'm currently rebuilding a website with VirtueMart installed and started from zero (fresh Joomla! installation). After I've finished the layout of the new website I want to transfer (copy) an existing VirtueMart installation from the old to the new website. Is there a checklist how to do that?? Which tables of the database need to be copied, which files transfered,...
I didn't find any guidance in the web. :(
My first step would be that I would upgrade the active VM installation from "VirtueMart 3.0.17.2" to Version 3.0.18! Would should be the next step(s)?
Thank you!
Manfred
just install VM on the new site and transfer / over write all VM tables (clearly named in the DB) and your image folder for VM
should work
you also need to do the joomla user tables.
make sure to DROP the tables before uploading the new, because of id values etc.
Why not simply use akkeba backup ? If this is a fresh install, you have the minimum to do a Joomla site.
Thx for the responses:
Akeeba Backup isn't an option because the new website is completly rebuild from zero and I don't want to copy all data to the new website.
Is there nothing more to do as just simply move / copy the VM-tables and the Joomla user tables from old to new? That would be nice ;)

and you have to move your image files over
YOu can use jmigrator too, he can be found here : https://www.daycounts.com/jmigrator, he permit toget only some data if needed.
I would use this http://extensions.virtuemart.net/back-office/import-export/virtuemart-migrator-detail
As far as I know you can also just port the same version
Hey,
Data transfer and upgrade all by yourself could be quite frustrating. I'd recommend using a dedicated VirtueMart to VirtueMart migration tool for that to ensure no data will be lost or misinterpreted https://www.shopping-cart-migration.com/shopping-cart-migration-options/247-virtuemart-to-virtuemart-migration It would let you kill two birds with one store - transfer data AND upgrade VirtueMart version simultaneously.
Hope it'll help!
