The categories have disappeared in VirtueMart 3.0.18.8 Blue Corvus 9414 in the categories pages (but i can see it in the "products categories" page).
I have only 1 categorie ("Headgear" that i have just published, but all the other categories have disappeared..).. :o

I haven't the error in VirtueMart 3.0.18.7 version, only in VirtueMart 3.0.18.8 Blue Corvus 9414
Could be a language problem of vm3.0.18.8. The vm3.0.18.9 is on the way

Hard to help that way. You could check your tables. Maybe the categories are in another language.

VirtueMart 3.0.18.9 is installed, KMFastrans is now disabled (and "non essential/optional" VM modules/plugins disabled too) and i have always the error (no categorie displayed) :

(i use 2 languages in my site and in VM, french and english)
(In fact, "categories" works well only in VirtueMart 3.0.18.7 version and before)
I just tried to install the versions virtuemart.3.0.18.9_9423 and virtuemart.3.0.18.9_9427 (update from VirtueMart 3.0.18.7)
and i have this error during the installation :
"An error has occurred.
0 Class 'vmLanguage' not found"
The old installer, did not use the updated files, but the old ones, to execute the tasks in the installer.
The new version should work directly directlink /1046/com_virtuemart.3.0.19_extract_first.zip (old link removed)

This is not a new problem. It is an old standard.
You installed the sample data, while the site language was set to french. So your content is in french tables. The product list has a fallback and lists english and french products, even when your BE language is english, but the categories do not have this fallback.
Just set your BE language to french and you can see your categories.
