Hello,

I'm using using VirtueMart 3.0.9 and facing a problem with shopper login and checkout.

While all pages are working well (i.e. product ,categories, shopping cart), I'm unable to have the checkout, login from the shopping cart, and the coupon working.

Hello

You should really update, VM3.09 is a test version not even a stable version. Backup of course. VM 3.0.16 and Joomla 3.5.1 is used now. Check that Your template supports Before updating.

I actually tried to run the Joomla update (3.5.1) but as it is not auto installation I wasn't able to complete it, although I followed the instructions stated in the documentation. As for VM 3.0.16, I totally have no idea on how to run that Update as I never did before.

It would be a great help if you can provide me with the steps (and links where applicable) to run both.

Sounds to me like you should be starting here:  https://docs.joomla.org/Portal:Beginners

The Joomla update is an automatic install. Joomla top menu Components/Joomla! Update and follow the instructions.

For updating VirtueMart see http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=123808.0

Test the updates first on a backup copy of your site. It is possible that you will need to edit one or more of the template overrides you are using, so testing first is a good idea!

I now got the VM 3.0.16 installed exactly as described. The login from the shopping cart is working well. However, the checkout and the coupon are still the same; not working.

As for Joomla update, the system states that there is no update available. I attached screenshots of the current version installed and the update page for your kind review.

Would really appreciate your review and feedback.

re joomla update

you need to clear the update cache and to make sure your database is up to date.. both part of the Joomla ->Extensions->Manage

then try the updater again

also try on the update page the options and flip back and forth between long term and short term

I, also, found the following info under the Database tab:

    Database update version (3.4.3) does not match CMS version (3.4.1).

DB Fixed, Cache cleared.. Yet, no update message is all what appears; "There are no updates available at the moment. Please check again later."

now try joomla update again .. try the options as well

There is nothing to run in that page, just the text I pasted.

When I click on Update again, I get that same message "There are no updates available at the moment. Please check again later."

The update issue is finally resolved. However, the installed version is now 3.4.1.

My dashboard shows that 3.5.1 is available, however, the update seem to have a problem.

The Error message I'm getting is:
"ERROR:
The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing".

When I contacted the hosting provider, I received the following feedback:

"The error message states that the update package downloaded by the script is corrupt. To resolve the issue I would like to suggest manually installing the update. You should contact the VirtueMart team for accurate instructions on the process."

The same issue with my vm is still existing. One more thing I just noticed is that after the update is that items are not even added to the cart while no error message is displayed; simply no action!!

There is obviously something wrong with your connectivity and no advice here is going to help..  get on to your host to sort this out

I finally got the Joomla update installed (3.5.1) and my dashboard shows that "Joomla is up to date" and "All extensions are up to date".

Unfortunately, I still have the same checkout issue.

Despite all updates to Joomla (3.5.1) and VM (3.0.16) I still can't get the checkout page to work...

you have a JS error on your product details page

TypeError: Virtuemart.stopVmLoading is not a function

plenty of info on here about JS error solutions but the end story is the JS error is on YOUR site.. it isn't a VM problem
