Title: VM 3 Pending Order email

Hello,

In VM 2.5 the administrator used to get an email when an order became pending, and a second one when it became confirmed.

In my new installation of VM 3.0 I only get an email when the order becomes confirmed.

Is there any way to have VM send me an email when an order is pending?  This allows me to see orders that were abandoned before payment.

I read the threads and understand that it is a design decision.
I will miss the pending messages.  Many times the pending messages alerted me to the case that the customer had some difficulties checking out.  Sometimes they even thought that they had finished paying and they were waiting for me to ship the product.

OTOH some people were shipping products without a payment having been received!

And as I understood it you just make another Status to replace the Pending that you configure as the checked out but not paid status

Configure that to send emails..  or is this not so?

If so how do I do it?

I never shipped a product when the order was pending, but not confirmed.   (Pending means pending.... Confirmed means confirmed,  pretty simple )
I did have an issue with paypal purchases not moving from pending to confirmed.  However I figured that out pretty quickly too.

I do have many customers who abandon carts.  Sometimes they are just checking prices, but often there is an issue with the site and they just move on and buy elsewhere.  These are cases that I really want to know about.

I have created a new order status for pending Paypal payments (JM 3.6.5  VM 3.2.1) , I still don't receive the email and the status is pending.. Way?

well it shouldn't be.. it should be your NEW status.. set in the payment plugins

Hello

I also get this result from the PayPal payment. There are some rare cases where the IPN service doesn´t give results back to VM. This results in the status PENDING. I am not sure how this actually plays out with the customer input. Maybe he updates the webpage or the browser locks during the payment. And if that happends it doesn´t matter what You write for the PENDING status in PayPal.

Unfortunately I don´t have a solution to this. Maybe changing the paypal plugin so that the minimum status will always be the assigned status in the setup for pending ? Instead of waiting for a IPN that doesn´t happen for some reason.
