Title: Installation problem of vm2.6.6, manually?
Post by: Pacther on August 12, 2014, 14:33:38 PM
Good evening, I have the same problem with Internet Explorer.
I saw the link to the version 2.6.7 but as I can not install Virtuemart everything from the beginning, it would be possible to change only the correct files? Or just make the upgrade from version 2.6.6 to 2.6.7?
However, I would point out that the previous version 2.6.0 in my case has always worked properly.
Thank you all for the help

so your already on 2.6.6?   don't really understand why you don't want to upgrade to 2.6.7 (core hacks?)
if not then you will need to do a file compare between the two versions and just ftp the changed files

I have the exact version 2.6.6 and these days I have modified some files without using the override.
What I would like is to upgrade to 2.6.7 but not having to reinstall everything.

Good evening, I manually copied the contents of a site test version 2.6.7 downloaded from the link in the topic.
The content of com_virtuemart.2.6.7.tar I copied everything except the files in the folder Install in what in my FTP folder that does not exist. Strange but true!
However, copying an entire folder administrator and components seems that the problem is resolved.
Now I wonder .. should I also copy the files in com_virtuemart.2.6.7_ext_aio.tar ??
Thanks to all

Basically what you have done  manually is exactly what the Joomla installer would have done...
AOI & comp versions should always match

Yepp, but you should also execute the table updater in the vm tools. Same for the Aio, execute the table updater.

Good morning, I decided  proceed with the upgrade to version 2.6.7, however, I am writing to ask for some info.
Regarding the folder administrator and components all ok.
While for the other I have some doubts, as the install folder I do not find myself in my FTP, plus the file virtuemart.xml I can not give a location.
As regards instead the folder com_virtuemart_allinone in my FTP is completely empty? I leave it blank or insert those files?
Yesterday I upgraded to virtuemart and not virtuemart_aio. The problem is that now I can not remember how to do it.
Thank you all.

I really don't understand why you are making this so complicated?

Clone your site
download the latest 2.6.7
unzip
install the 2 packages visa the joomla installer
Job done

hello, I tried to make the installation com_virtuemart.2.6.7.tar by extension manager but it gives me error like: Unable to write entry
It 's the first time that happens to me. With the rest is always alright.

Hello. None of those errors.
However, the only thing I want to know is if I have to copy the folder Install + virtuemart.xml in the file / public_html / mysite and the content of com_virtuemart.2.6.7_ext_aio.tar in / public_html / mysite / components / com_virtuemart_allinone.
Thank you

I have no idea cos I don't know what you are trying to do - why not install the way that 99% of other VM users do?
by the Joomla installer

The aio component directory is empty following a correct install.

What I'm trying to do is to copy and overwrite the contents of com_virtuemart.2.6.7.tar and com_virtuemart.2.6.7_ext_aio.tar.
As for the components administrator and folders no problem because I found the right path from the version 2.6.6.
For all the rest I can not find coincident as the install folder is not present while the com_virtuemart_allinone folder is empty and it seems to be just so.
I tried to install using the manager but it gives me error.
What I would like is if over the folder administrator and components I need to copy to FTP also other files and folders.
Thank you
