Go to Joomla "Global Configuration" and set "Error Reporting" to "Development".  Now you should be able to see the exact error which is generating 500 error in the page. Check the same and report back.

Hi
In development mode, it has started giving loads of error everywhere on frontend and backend some of them are probably warnings.

However i still added a product to cart and went to checkout

Now when i press confirm order button at last it gives following error:

Strict Standards: Declaration of JParameter::loadSetupFile() should be compatible with JRegistry::loadSetupFile() in /home/eboxsys2/public_html/libraries/joomla/html/parameter.php on line 512

What this means?

notify you hosting company,   500 errors are server side issues,  see what they can do

next thing to do is upgrade your joomla to .17

this may help.

don't do it on live site,    you should be working on a dev copy

did you make any customizations to j or vm?

you saw more errors because you turned error reporting on, turn it off and you wont see all of those,    and most are just notifications

or pm me,   were inexpensive
